I just got my 21 inch flat screen trinitron I got from a TN Tech auction back from the shop and it's rnning beautifully and I can't believe the difference between this monitor and my old Compaq V90 at 85 Hz I can already feel a difference in my eyes.. they feel alot more relaxed.. |

Excellent choice in monitors, sounds like you found a great deal.
I'm still running my older model 19" Proview, perhaps its time for an upgrade. I may finally break down and drop the cash for a flat-screen LCD this time around, especially since I'm thinking about going with a Apple G4 Mac for next workstation. |

I got a great deal.. picked it up for about $30 and fixed for free.. it also has dual inputs so I can hook two computers up to at once and switch back and forth.. I actually got 2 for $60 and made a deal with the guy at the repair shop he kept one if fixed them both as payment.. |

He said some 2.2 resistor or something like that went bad so he just put a new one on it it worked but it has a small prob.. went I first turn it on when it's cold it's a little blurry but it takes a minute to clear up by the time I'm in windows everything is fine but he said if it messes up real bad bring it back and he'll fix it for free or RMA it back to Dell. The second one has a bad high voltage capcitor he's gonna order and then he'll have his done. Other than that this is a great monitor I was so happy I gave my 19 inch Compaq V90 to my roomate. |

Wow - I'd love a monitor like that, but I don't think it would fit on my desk |

Yeah... got the Proview 19" too... time for an upgrade on the monitor.. its about 3 years old... I paid $800 CDN (about $575 US at that time) for it.
Non plug and play which sucks!

this thing barely fits on my desk but I love it.. and it's stopped the blurriness altogether at startup cold or not work 100% now.. my friend chuck said he thinks maybe some moisture was messin with it.. who knows..
All I can say is CALL AREA COLLEGE CAMPUSES!! ask them if they have yearly or semi annual auctions.. alot do but they don't tend to be broadcast to much.. you usually have to call and ask when they are or where the dates will be posted.. I know a fellow nerd who grabbed a NEC Multiscan 21 inch monitor for $1 and he got everything else on the palette.. stacks of Pentium and PII possibly PIII computers (15-20 a palette) for around $5-$15.. the most I've seen anyone pay for a palette at a Tn Tech auction was $80... there are other things they sell.. all kinds of things... but I usually go there for the tech stuffs cause all the fellow rednecks don't know enough to care about bidding higher than $20.. |
