dual-display question

I have a PNY GeForce3 64mb card with SVGA/TV/DVI out. I'm trying to set up a dual-display configuration by attaching a second analog monitor using a DVI-analog adapter. Both monitors are up and running but the second monitor shows the same image as the primary monitor. When I go to display properties, I only see one monitor on the screen instead of the two I expected.

My Questions are:

Even though I'm getting output from the DVI port, is this card not able to do true dual-display?
Any way to force dual-display mode?
Any idea what the problem is?

Thanks!

I don't believe the Geforce 3 supports true dual video output, does it?

welcome to the board. First it you go into video settings click on advance tab and look for a tab for your video card there should be a setting for single monitor, clone, vert. span, hoz. span chose the setting you need and apply the setting.

Ive looked it up when I had a TI500, like goldenbuddha said Im pretty sure it does not support twinview, only the GF2 MX and GF4's do. Heres what a quick google search came up with, long thread and I didnt go through all of it but maybe you can find some useful info.

Thanks for all your help. Looks like Discreet is right, the GeForce3 doesn't support TwinView. I guess I'd better go get a new card.

You could also get another (cheaper, like a GF2 MX) PCI card, and use 2 cards to 2 monitors to get a nice dual setup, without sharing 1 card's resources. That is the setup I have now, Windows 2K and XP both support this feature really well and its easy to setup.
