| trailing image effect with LCD monitor
Everything on the screen has a slight duplicate/trailing effect of itself, be it text, icon...etc. I also notice that it's only on the right side of things. These are non-moving objects, so I'm not talking about the ghosting effect LCD screen produces. Any help?

try dulling the brightness and/or messing with the balance between darkness/brightness settings on there.
might try another refresh rate IE 75Hz better than 60Hz.
hope this helps. |

What make/model/size?
Do you have the screen resolution set to match the LCD? For example, a 15" LCD must be set to 1024x768. You can use a lower resolution, like 800x600, but it will not look clear. If you don't like 1024x768 because the text is too small, use large fonts rather than lower the resolution.
Post back if that's not your problem. |

Right-click on your desktop, select "Properties". Go to the 'Appearance' tab and select the button 'Effects'. There should be a box that says, "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:" Tell me if it's checked, and if so, what is selected in the box: Standard or ClearType.
Let me know...

EDIT: Didn't think of resolution being a problem. Normally, you should set an LCD to the highest resolution that it supports, in other words as high as the resolution slider will go. Right-click desktop > Settings tab > Change the resolution. |

Sorry, it's NEC Multisync LCD1760v. The optimal resolution is 1280 by 1024 and I set it to that. Lowering the res helped but I would prefer to stay at this res. Lower the brightness by alot somewhat helped but it's dark and doesn't completely get rid of the effect. Changing refresh rate didn't do anything. Changing the effects setting in display properties didn't do anything. Any other ideas? |

The refresh rate is too low on that model Active TFT. Thats what its from. Any fast motion that makes blurrs means it not fast enuff at refreshing the crystal display. When you lower the res you up the refresh capablilty hence helping it some. No fix for this other than a higher end lcd Im affraid. Thats not to discourage you from trying though. Good luck.

Any chance of taking it back to the store? I'm sure that thing was expensive and I'd be pretty annoyed to get that kind of performance. |
