I've heard raves about the ATI Radeon LE chipset (has vivo) & GeForce MX400's for their price/performance. Just be sure that if you go with the MX400, you get a 32MB SDR card, since the chipset can't take advantage of DDR or 64MB of memory (someone confer this, I'm doing this from memory of reading articles)

Just built a system with the 8kha+, !600+ processor and I went ahead with the ATI Radeon 7500 with XP installed. Runs great and havent had any problems with it yet. I use alot of DVDs and not to many games which were the selling points of me to this card, not the fastest gaming card ut I seldom game.

I use GeForce2 Pro with my set (the same as yours
) and it rocks ..
I would recommend the GF2 Pro 64MB DDR .. great performer for neat price ..
<EDIT> i wanted to add that if you want games and 3D apps .. then the GF2 Pro is the way to go ...
But if you are into DVD and 2D quality then go with the ATI Radeon..
I would suggest the Pro if you want high 3D gaming performance with "good" DVD and 2D quality ...

yes, I mainly want it for gaming....
I read a lot about the new geforce3 cards, but they are pricey... so a geforce2 PRO... will have to look at that..

Hello drojman...

I checked at newegg .. they have the GF2 Pro and GF2 Ti...
http://www.newegg.com/app/manufactor...alog=48&DEPA=1
Check by chipset ...
The MX is not a bad card, but with some intensive huge games, it might lag and have hiccups .. (Max Payne is an exp.) ... it uses SDRAM not DDR memory .. so you can say it is so much bottle necked by the memory bandwidth ..
If you can afford the price difference, then take my advice and keep your eye on the GF2 Pro not the Ultra ...
Regards
