I found this site a few weeks ago, but I can't remember its URL. It had a rumor about Nvidias plan to pull ahead of ATI with this "new" card called the Geforce 6 ST. WTF?!! If this were true why would Nvidia skip 5 and go straight to 6?! Also it boasted that the card will have a core clock of 933 Mhz, memory clock of 1.2 Ghz, and 12 rendering pipelines!!! The card will have 256 MB of RAM and will feature a 32 GB/sec memory bandwidth!! This is unbelievable!! But it is only a rumor from this one site. If I find it again I will definetly let you know. Just a little something for you to ponder over. |

I think they're a little busy getting the GFFX to PCI Express

Well, I certainly have heard of no such card, and I am generally one of the first people to receive leaked information about new projects at nVidia.
Telexen is correct about PCI Express, that is nVidia's next near-future goal. NV36, NV38, and Detonator 5x.xx should launch at Computex. NV36M in November. NV40 in Q1 2004.
NV41/NV43/NV45 are on track for H1 2004, perhaps at GDC or E3.
NV42 (still questionable) should be essentially the same design as NV43, except for core die size. NV43 is 0.13u, NV42 is on 0.11u.
The supposedly big project right now at nVidia is an Intel Pentium IV chipset. One insider (moderately credible IMO) claims nVidia may bypass Intel lisencing by pulling an end-run via its recent agreements with IBM.

Thats a pretty wild rumor. It looks totally wrong with the name skip, and the core/memory speed is weird. Most cards have a 2 or 3 to one core to memory clock speed ratio. In the long term they'll be that fast, but not real soon.
