BTW, no matter what card you're getting, I recommend you use DScaler. It's a very small, very good program for watching TV. | YES, dscaler rock! I use a derivitive of it for linux since dscaler is really only made for windows.

Im on my 3rd TV/FM tuner card.
First one years back was the aver tv/fm, still in use in the computer in the garrage.
Second one was the Pinnacle PCTV Plus, in use in my daughters system.
The last one that I bought in March this year, the Leadted Winfast, same one that bumpeez has, something like $ 42.00 on newegg/free shipping, so far it has been the least expensive of the 3 with the most features.
My 16yr old daughter likes it because you can capture radio as mp3, wav.ect.....
so she makes her own top 40
For the price and the value, I reccomend the leadtek.

if i got a tv tuner card and recorded shows and had a dvd burner, could you make quality copies of a show? like if i wanted to record all the Innuyasha shows and burn them on dvd, would they look as good as the dvd's that you buy in the stores?

If your good... yes but question is do you have the patience to do all the work needed... cut out commercials as they are wasted DVD space... then take into consideration that commercial DVDs are normally double layered meaning they store 2x as much as the DVDs we burn. So you either store about 2 30min shows or 1 hour show on a DVD at *full* quality. So you have to run the recorded shows through a program to convert them to smaller files and cut out un wanted stuff then burn em and if you wannt make a menu and .... yeah... id just go buy it...

If thats the case Try to get some good software for making your DVDs so you can make some cool menus and what not I love Adobe Encore
I dont think recording it to a DVD is illegal either as there is nothing wrong with recording your shows to watch em later on VHS... You just cant sell it is the main thing...AFIK

I love my ATI TV Video Wonder Card. I do not know what I would do with it. THe picture is clear and precise. It is excellent being able to record TV shows without having to worry about Tapes. |
