256mb radeon 9800 xt

carryover from this thread pixel problem!!!!

So you got new drivers and it didnt fix it.

Okay, what you need to do is go to the website of the game....look thru their FAQ list....see if they have a forum and ask there if anyone else is having the issue....surely someone has had it before.

search google also using keywords like "pixel problem" with the name of the game in there also.

hello & welcome to TechIMO.

first off I'm not so sure that type of expressive wordage is allowed here.

as to your question the only time that has ever happened to me was way back when I installed a program around '98/'99.
it done a similiar effect tho on my desktop and progressively got worse.
I uninstalled the program I thought to be at fault & all was good to go.
so my guess would be something has been recently installed that is interfering with your graphics.
just a guess mind yah.

i dont over clock , but i did turn it on for about 10 sec and it went up to 188 fps on counter strike

Make sure AA and AF is off. Set Trueform to off. If still like that try some of the settings (one at a time) under the compat tab. IS this a dx game or OpenGL?

I notice that same effect sometimes when I use 3dmark 2k3? Even at stock speeds with the latest 3.9 Cats. on my Radeon 9800 NP. Wondering what that's all about myself..?
