| Display problem..
Win. XP Pro.
I845 w/ Pentium 4 1.4GH
512 PC133 Sdram
Visiontek GF3
Sony Trinitron Multiscan E400 19" @ 100Hz
The problem is, everytime I start a game or 3dMark or even shut off the PC or restart it the screen comes back up either an inch to the right or left. I can reset the screen back to the center, but again if any game is run or I restart or shutdown/Start the screen will again push off to either one side or the other about an inch. How do I fix this? Det. 23.10 drivers. Also tried: 23.11's and didn't make a difference. Tired of having to adjust my display all the time.

Usually this kind of prob. is caused by the Graphics card. All of the ones I have purchased in the last year have come with special programs that add themselves to your display settings. These allow you to adjust where your screen center is. once you set that it should stay with out shifting. Some of these proggies are 3deep, True color, and some that are company founded usually in the advanced tab.

I've tried the advanced tab and set the montior display to where I want it. But that didn't work. Once it was restarted it jumped to one side again. This is a new problem. Just started happening about 2-3 days ago....

It was a driver issue. I changed to a different set and NO PROBS! . Think it started with the 23.11's..... GRRRRRR....

Didn't you changed refresh settings?
Maybe the refresh rate was set too low or improperly. But yes... this problem is very often caused by drivers!

Yeah, I had the refresh at 100Hz and 85Hz. I just went into ADD/Remove programs and removed the Nvidia drivers. Loaded a different set and have had no problems. The 23.11's started the whole thing I believe. I had them originally, then changed to 23.10's, that's when the problems eventually started. After deleting the Nvidia display drivers and doing a clean install of a different set, I have had no problems.
