Watch the Vet crumble
Here is the video of Philadelphia's Veterans' Stadium going down during yesterday's "implosion" (broadband recommended).
Of course, some would argue it's been crumbling for 33 years, but anyway...
By the way, one of my pet peeves, it's still an explosion, not an implosion.

Ohhh nice, I saw that on the news last night.
Have you taken a tour of the new stadium yet?

Is that what it was?
Here I thought it was a tribute to the end of Howard Dean's campaign.

Kudos to D.M. of CNBC.

Mike, no haven't gotten over there yet, to either stadium.
Strictly speaking, an implosion is where something collapses inward, usually because the external atmospheric pressure is greater than the internal pressure. For example, if you pull a strong vacuum on a thin-walled flask, it will implode. Building demolition occurs by strategically placed explosives and timing of the explosions that prevent damage from spreading outward.
