Opening Day
Finally spring is here! Not physically, as it is 45F here, but in baseball spirit.
My Phillies are starting on the road again, this time in Pittsburgh. Top of the 7th and they are down 2-0. Looks like it's gonna be a slow start for them this year.
Just hoping for a Pittsburgh emplosion; maybe they can take after the deceast Vet.

Im literally cracking up. [THIS YEAR] I dunno if you've been living in a cellar or something without TV, but the Yankees have been in contention for the Word Series for the past 6 or 7 years at least. They are pretty much the only team in the AL who has gone to the Series this decade and in the `90's.

I know that, and thats why they are going to win this year again, and again.

I dont think the Yanks have the pitching this year. Sure, they will score 6 runs a game, but who knows how many they will give up.
Phillies lost 2-1.

Heh, now that I look at the staff, they are pretty good. I think the guy you're thinking of that they bought is Kevin Brown. The others are Mussina, and Vazquez. The rest other two are questionable. Bullpen seems decent.
The Yanks will probably be up there again, but I'm rooting for the Sox or A's outta the AL, as it's boring to see Steinbrenner buy the trophies.

Haha, Thursday @ 7PM on ESPN is The Yankees on Trial. It's about what Steinbrenner is doing and if it is good for baseball or not.

I'm an Orioles fan. Not sure how well they are gonna do, they have a rookie manager and went through a lot of restructuring.

Screw Steinbrenner and his Yankees. The buy-yourself-a-pennant approach is bad for baseball.
On the other hand, I'm hopin' it works for the Astros this year.
Go Astros!
