Dreams and Nightmares
I keep not remembering my dreams lately. But when I wake up, I feel despicable. As if I'd been doing something exceedingly underhanded or hurtful in my dreams.
My girlfriend also mentioned I was talking in my sleep last night, but it was gobbledegook.
Anyhow, what have you been dreaming lately?

I dream... But I don't ever remember what I dream about. Every once and a while I'll have a really strange dream which I may remember for a few days, but that's about it.

Tell her to wake you up while you're talking. You might remember what you were dreaming then.

My wife has surrealistic dreams and remembers them vividly. I hardly ever remember mine clearly. Usually just bits and pieces.

By the time I hit the sack, I've been up so long my brain is fried. No active brain cells to dream with.
Good job, friend-of-friends!

my dreans are very vivid and strange. Last night I dreamed I was in an old warehouse, and some buddies were there trying to help me fix it up, the materials were strange though and then my father showed up to help with the electricity, the fuse box was a bunch of weird glass knobs filled with orange and pink liquids, they were the size of bowls, he was telling me to turn the knobs until the liquid drained 2/3 of the way out, I was thinking wow he actually does know something, then the liquid all drained out in the pink one he was turning, he said "ut oh" and I woke up...
edit: I dream everynight and usually remember them for at least the first part of the day, the really odd ones stick with me all day

Nope, never get enough sleep, so when I go to bed, I'm always in deep slumber.

I typically dream about events in my life...I'm a work out freak and there is a PT test coming up in which I plan to dominate the hell out of everybody, their mother and their second cousin.....the other night I dreamt I got my new ultra light weight Nike Air Zoom Competition Shoes (coming Friday
) and ran an 11:06 two mile time on my PT test (17 seconds faster than my last time)....we shall see in 2 weeks

My dreams are cinematic and vivid. I usually dream in the “directors” perspective, sometimes stopping my dreams and rewriting them in a way I feel is more satisfactory. I’ve dreamed of me dead and attended my funeral.
I once had the same dream for nearly twelve years. Not every night but at least a couple of times a month. I sought out a psychologist who specialized in dreams. In one session he satisfactorily interpreted my dream and I haven’t dreamt that dream since.

Any chance you'll tell us about the dream and the interpretation?
I totally understand if you'd rather not.
addition: I never could take dream interpretation too seriously, it seems like either a dream is about real life, or is a pretty obvious metaphor for real life; or a dream is just a crazy mish-mash produced by a mind that's trying to straighten itself out when you're unconscious.Last edited by geeraff; April 12th, 2004 at 06:58 PM.

I used to always dream about snakes...back when i was partying and living the wild life....snakes everywhere..I couldnt escape them..Id be minding my own business in the dream..next thing you know I am walking and there are thousands of snakes everywhere...no way to get away from them.
After I "gave my life to the Lord"...I dont dream of snakes AT ALL...interesting huh?
Also, I used to halfway wake up quite regularly..I would be semi aware..but not wide awake....and "something" would have me by the throat choking me...I couldnt scream..couldnt breath..couldnt do anything much about it.....since I am a Christian I havent had that happen once..not one time....it used to happen a couple times a week etc.
I still dream of course...not always anything grand or memorable but sometimes they are worth writing down etc. At times I do dream of war....where I am fighting against long odds.

JP, I think if your dream was to be interpreted it'd be something like- the snake is often seen as a symbol of evil, especially in the christian religion, you were living against what you felt you should inside so you were torturing yourself to get on track, when you went into the churches fold you made peace with yourself...

Many folks see snakes as part of the DT's - that ring any bells, JP?

Interesting thread. I rarely remember dreams I have, but when I do recall them, they are usually about someone else, not me.
Cheers

I did my share of drinking but never to the point of Dt's lol...and I dont think drinking explains the waking up being choked....which I know for a fact I am not alone in experiencing.
Looking back it was just the due judgement on me for living a lifestyle I knew was wrong..it was also the mercy of God to not allow me to be comfortable in that lifestyle."Even a fool is thought to be wise if he is silent"

I remember dreaming about snakes. I felt I can never get away from them. Used to be reoccurring dreams but it stopped so I don't know why. Recently I have this reoccorring dreams For quite a while. I'm in a strange area and know where home is but on my journeys I never got there. I feel like a lost soul. I recognized some elements in my dreams as real life events but there's no rhymes nor reasons in the dreams.

I really suck at offering written condolences. I get kind of emotional so I just find myself fumbling over the right things to say when a loved one dies. In fact, I'd be embarassed to tell you how...
