Let's not put Lady Truth up against the wall and pull the trigger either.

When we pour water on the Drudge right-wing smear machine and stamp out the embers, we start seeing the truth.

The "He" in the above post I assume means John Kerry. The truth is that this was not a Kerry ad. It is misrepresentation to call this a "Kerry ad." It was a $175 ad placed, by the 75-year old President of a local political club, in a free supermarket type paper that has a 13,000-circulation. The club president has a history of political extremism. Kerry nether had knowledge nor consented to the ad and when he learned of it, disavowed it. I wish Bush would have the guts to disavow all those wackos that distort Kerry's record.

In a simpler time this would not be considered news.

The title of this thread is an out-and-out lie. I thought you were a "realist" Chuckie? What particular "reality" does this come from?

From the original ad....

Quote:
Do you want to salvage our country? Be a saviour of our country? Then vote for John Kerry and get rid of the whole Bush Bunch!
Please make a donation for ANY amount of money you can afford and send it to John Kerry for President, Inc 901 15th Street, N.W. Suite 700 Washington DC 20005. Do it NOW, Thank you.

I'm sure it wasn't endorsed by John Kerry, but it is most certainly a campaign ad promoting Kerry for President. http://www.drudgereport.com/stp.gif The original post indicates that the topic starter recognizes that this ad came from the "fringe"

FTM, if that is the only requirement for calling it a "Kerry campaign ad . . . " then I could print up a flyer calling Kerry a child molester, ask everyone to send money to Bush, then publically proclaim "Bush campaign ad calls Kerry a child molester."

That would be more than a little dishonest, IMO.

IT is an ad taken out by the president of a "political club", seeking donations for the election of "someone" for President. Therefore, it IS a political ad.

Whether it is right, condoned by "someone", etc., this is the kind of crap that makes our political system stink.

Notice, I didn't state a "political party" or name? That's because this can happen involing either major party.

First, Drudge only reported the add.

Second, it was an add endorsing Kerry.

Third, it did call for a "hit" on Rumsfeld

Forth, it is a part of the fringe Democrats since I didn't see anywhere the slogan "I'm John F-ing Kerry, and I endorsed this message"

Don't shoot the messenger. Is just a normal day in the left wing press corps.

As I said earlier, a few years ago this wouldn't have been considered 'news.' Now, with zeal to find dirt on the guy they don't like, they're diving into garbage cans - and smelling appropriately.

Come on, now Chuckie. You stirred the normal right wing press corps garbage. Surely you were expecting a stink to ensue.

According to CNN, Kerry doesn't even have nothing to do with this. And it's spelled ad, not add.
