| Maybe I should change my e-mail address?
Ok in the begining this was amusing, now it's getting a little annoying.
As you know, my nickname is club_med, one of my e-mail aliases is also club_med@..... Now, I keep on getting e-mails from many people who think I have something to do with the club med touristic office, I get requests for reservation, sponsoring offers, e-mails from students who would like to do internships, all kinds of things.
Where on earth are they getting my e-mail from (nope my e-mail has never been posted anywhere for anyone to see).
Also, my replies to them are becoming more and more amusing (to me at least). |

Wow that sucks. My phone number's very close to a mental hospital and a prison. I routinely get phone calls from doctors offices and people looking for the kitchen or security desk. I also get calls at 4:30 am from people trying to call in sick. I thought about changing my number but my luck I would get one close to the hospital, 24 hour Wal-mart, or police non-emergency number so I just deal with it. At least e-mail doesn't wake you up. |

I'd like to book a 2 week stay in Cancun.
On the beach, with lots of Corona's
HEHE, sorry.
I have noticed a lot of spammers are using any name they can think of, and just adding it to the @wherever.com listing.
I get it a lot too, as my main addy is my first name.
Its just people trying to remember the address or guessing.
Not much you can do, sorry.
Just keep track of the replys you send.
Resond back with a form letter, something real long, and maybe they wont bother you anymore
Good luck |

You could use your email to an advantage by emailing them back telling them that club med is being shut down do to whatever reason. That would be really funny............just a thought |

Or just get them to send their money to you. Take the profits and move to...Club Med!
PS: You've been spammed by the club_med@everyserviceintheworld script.

Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for interest in Club Med. We would like to take this time to get to know you, our guest, a little better so that we may expand our current services. Please fill out this short survey and reply to the email above.
1. If you were an animal what kind you be? Please explain in detail.
2. What color is the sky in your world?
3. Did you ever eat paint chips as a child? If so, what were you thinking?
4. Have you or anyone you know ever been abducted by little green men?
5. Please explain your current method for verifying an e-mail address. This question is to determine where you went seriously wrong.
6. Do you ever get urges to send money to strangers for absolutely no reason at all? If yes we will be contacting you shortly.
7. Insert annoying questions here. Add as many as you wish
Sincerly,
NOT the Club Med Management

ROFL, Prttybean! Are you the one who came up withe one about how to give a pill to a cat? That was hilarious, too!
The last phone # I had was similar to Kaiser Hospital, which did a HUGE business with elderly people, some of whom suffered from hearing problems and mental difficulties.
Several times a day, I would get these calls, and it took a lot of self-control to not get mad at 'em, but to gently re-direct them to the RIGHT number. The ones that strained me the most were the ones who could no longer grasp the concept of a wrong number.
edit: DOH! Excuse me, CM, yes I would change that e-mail addy in one hot minute!

The cat one was floating around the net for awhile, I didn't actually write that.
I wish I still had a phone with a hold button. You'd be amazed at how long they'd sit on the line. Apparently though phones do not mix well with sinks full of dish water. The phone I have now is missing that neat and entertaining feature. Someone want to explain to my mother that she can indeed go at least two days without calling her children 15 times!
I think the best thing to do with an e-mail addy is to try to avoid name similar to popular places, people, etc. Sucessfully doing that though can be hard. |
