safe and (physically) sound
made it back from a week working away from home. pretty boring, actually. i work till 3:30 pm. so i have from then till around 10 pm or so to keep myself occupied. did a bit of cruising and looking at the landscape. i forgot a camera. there is some beautiful scenery on the shore of lake superior. many small towns right in a row. dont know where one ends and the next begins.
i noticed a internet cafe downtown.(houghton) i ll have to check it out next week.
something rather disheartening happened today. my foreman has a very short fuse when it comes to a certain other boss of another trade and company on the job site i m working on. i ve known doug for quite awhile. we ve worked together numerous times.
well, today he got into (yet) another bout with jim the ironworker boss. seems good ol` jim decided to dump quite a bit of water on a fresh concrete floor, right after the concrete was laid down.
doug lost it and after he and jim had their screaming match, called our superintendent over the radio and yelled at him to come into the building to talk to the ironworker dude(jim).
problem was that our super was on the phone with the architect in detroit having some sort of phone conference. and dougs profanities rang loud and clear throughout the earpieces of all involved in the conference.
farmer john(our super) laid doug off afterwards. i guess physical violence was close at hand, and i know from experience with watching doug, that he was the instigator.
i m rather depressed over it,but i think farmer john had had enough. this isnt the first ,second, third,or fourth time this has happened since last august. maybe doug needs counseling.
weird thing is that when doug works with his tools,he as calm as can be. but when he s a foreman,he angers quite easily and ends up apologizing quite frequently. he tells me he knows he shouldnt react like he does. but he still does. i kiddingly say"dont stop going berserk, its the only entertainment i have on this job!!" but he knows i m joshing him. i really would like to see him calm down and not take everything so seriously.
other than poor dougy loosing his job today, the week was pretty mundane. forgot my cell phone charger,so i was out of touch with ruby after the phone went dead.
anyway.........its good to be home.
have a wonderful weekend,fellow TIMO`ERS

Hey, Draboo! Welcome back!

Yeah, I've known some guys like Doug. Very straight-up, competant professionals, so then somebody promotes 'em...and then alluva sudden they're responsponsible for a bunch of chuckleheads who (seemingly) don't know rebar from a joist hanger, but their uncle is connected, yada, yada...
Oh well. I'm just glad you're not telling this story on your ownself!
BTW, I seriously considered starting a thread about "Let's Keep Rubyred Amused While Draboo's Gone", only I screwed it up by telling her (in a PM)!
The SILENCE was deafening...

Inclement weather is preventing me from riding my bike, so it might as well be snowing.
