Are we on the Cusp of World War 3?

Please guys, don't go political on me. The last thing I want to see is a bunch of arguing over who is to blame, what we should have done, blah, blah, blah. I'm asking an honest question.

I listen to a radio station out of Denver, Redmond and Newman, in which Newman made this statement today:

The terrorist government of Syria, which directly supports such organizations as Hamas and Hezbollah, says that the sanctions about to be imposed by the United States might be viewed as an act of war and that Syria might retaliate. How might they do that? Not through military action, of course, but by sending additional terrorists after US targets at home and abroad. The US says Syria refuses to stop the flow of terrorists from there into Iraq, but Syria says no terrorists are coming into Iraq from there. US citizens planning travel to Syria should consider postponing their trip until further notice.

Israel is on record as saying it will not allow the terrorist government of Iran to develop nuclear weapons, which Israel, the US, Great Britain and even certain UN officials believe Iran is doing. In 1981, Israel destroyed Saddam’s nuclear plant, and Israel may do the same to Iran’s very soon. Iran says it will counterattack if this happens, and they have large missiles that can reach anywhere in Israel. This situation is likely to come to a head in the very near future, and that head could be bloody, indeed.

Really got me thinking. Newman hasn't an agenda, and is by no means a radical.
What are your thoughts?

We might have terrorist attacks, but I do beleive that no one has the nads to start a full fledged war.

My reasoning is our Alliance with Israel. I feel that if Isreal were to be engaged in an all-out war with anyone, we would back them. We have a very strong alliance with them for whatever reasons. I can't help but think if they get into a war with Iran, so do we. There is an incredible amount of unrest in the world right now.

i disagree in a way, pickel, and i goes to my other point - that your poll is at least one option short:

We're smack-dab in the middle of WW3. Lacking that, i voted for the nearest equivalent.

I think we're actually late-comers to WW3. I think it's a different kind of war, and I think war was declared on us long ago by terrorists. We're only just realizing it and taking action.

But if you're asking if there could be a gross escalation, i think that's very possible. Rightly, Israel won't allow Iran to have nuclear capabilities. Iran could retaliate and it could get very very ugly. But as i see it, this would actually expedite the war - bringing it out in the open will expose them and more swiftly bring a close to what would otherwise be a relatively hidden war that lasts decades. The short version, i think, would last 4-5 years.

Would nuclear weapons be unleashed? I think both nuclear and chemical, but the US wouldn't use a nuclear strategy until after the enemy used WMDs, but may then be judicious in their use.

Let me lay out the way I feel.

I would describe myself as a very happy person, hardly ever angry, generally positive with a great outlook on life. Tonight, after seeing footage taken of the young man (my age) before the decapitation, along with Newman's point, I feel almost sad to the point of depression. I've never been depressed for longer than I'd say, a day. Maye 3-4 times in my life. Up to this point, the war, the attacks, etc have not him home.

Radical Islam vs. Democracy

We will let the keep Islam if they drop the radical part, but they won't give us the same consideration. They can't. Women have equal rights, and you can't kill people who you don't agree with.

Israel agrees with us, and they have nukes and they are the prime target.

I have been researching "endtime" stuff for about 6 months now...trying to get a grip on it....its fairly clear what will happen...its just hard to say exactly WHO and WHEN.

Now..dont ask me to explain the "4 angels" and how that all works....because that is stuff in the spiritual realm that we arent seeing....BUT the part we will see will be 1/3 of mankind killed.......we see an army of 200 million.....now..when this was written a couple thousand years back...there was noooooo wayyyyyy possible for a country to have a 200million man army....but now (according to the CIA factbook) China has 200 million war aged men....Mao tse tung boasted that he could field an army of 200 million...he named the EXACT number in the bible (and he was an atheist, not a bible student, lol).

So it looks like China will be involved----and it looks like a nuclear exchange...lots of them, lol...cuz 2 BILLION people killed will have to involve nukes and also some VERY densely populated areas.

We see the action being "sprung" around the river Euphrates.....uhh, anyone noticed lately where the US army is fighting at?


Also you have to look at the different situations today that could spring at any time....look at China/Taiwan...also N Korea/Pakistan.....notice that China backs N Korea....and that we are trying to work with the Pakistani president to find Bin Laden etc. Also rememebr that we are 'sworn" to protect Taiwan and that China has said that they WILL immediately invade if Taiwan tries to declare independence. When he was elected Bush was asked what he would do to protect Taiwan and he said "whatever it takes".....now, you may not like Bush...but you must admit he isnt much for bluffing.

Chinese officials have made comments to US officials such as "we dont really think you want to trade LA for Bejing"...implying that China aint scared to go nuke.

As far as the many prophecies of the bible....there are 2 that are in line to happen and it is not really clear to anyone (that I have heard of) which will happen first

Firstly...a leader will make a "covenant" (peace treaty?) with Israel...either in the covenant or very close to that time the Jewish temple will be rebuilt--impossible?? nope, it will happen, lol. The temple will be rebuilt and animal sacrifices will resume. (see-->The Old testament..which the Jews still follow). The covenant will be 7 years but the leader will renig in the middle of the covenant...he will stop the sacrifices and he will stand in the temple claiming to be God and commanding that he himself be worshipped.....this is when the infamous "mark of the beast" will be implemented.

Be wise about it.....dont think he will stand there and say "I am the antichrist, you must take the mark of the beast or you wont be able to buy or sell". Lol, it wont be couched in those terms....more like "Please...lets put these ancient religions and customs behind us ....you dont need them anymore....I am your savior....havent I restored peace to Jerusalem?? Havent my plans worked?? I have had to step in and stop these barbaric animal sacrifices. Lets realize that there is no God in heaven to save us...we have the power ourselves to succeed in whatever we do..but we must work together...we must implement these securoty measures blah blah"

By the way the pope (see in revelation "the False Prophet") will be this guys right hand man..they will be bosom buddies, lol...the pope will be giving full consent to what the leader says

of course you must know that if you swear allegience to this man and his system...God aint gonna take it too well, lol.

Secondly the "war" I described above.

now the only question is "which will come first"....hard to say..or they could sort of run concurrently.....perhaps the treaty will be signed...and then maybe during the first 3.5 years the terrible war will happen and the world leader will take that oppurtunity to put the world into his vise of control. (in the same way the patriot act came in on the emotion and panic of 9/11)

now, speaking of syria....in Daniel 12 it also talks about the antichrist.....and there are wars shown which are historical wars that occured between syria and egypt....but since it is speaking also of the antichrist there...the possibility exists that those wars were just foreshadowing events that we will soon see happening.

also turkey/syria/iraq have argued over the water in the euphrates for a good while now...especially since turkey has put dams up at several points (ataturk etc). I think that syria and Iraq have sort of 'teamed up' against turkey as far as the politics of the euphrates (also of course they jointly condemned turkey for working with Israel--go figure)

So possibly that aspect could come into play.

Coincedently revelation 16 talks about the Euphrates being 'dried up' so that the 'kings of the east" can cross it coming over to war. I am pretty sure that also was impossible at the time of the writing....but now with the pushing of a few buttons it can be done.....it ALREADY was done in 1990 when Turkey was filling up the reservoir.

So with all that said....I have no doubt that war is upon us soon.

When you see this treaty being signed and the temple being rebuilt...you must KNOW..beyond a shadow of a doubt...that th ebible is absoutely true because God is absolutely true..His plans, foretold thousands of years ago...before such plans were even possible..are coming into being before our very eyes. We see now the nations forming against Israel as predicted (ever noticed the votes in the UN concerning anything to do with Israel?? usually they are like 188-3 with the 3 being USA/Israel/Micronesia.

Foretold..and happening before our eyes.

When you see these things PLEASE call out to God and ask His forgiveness for your sins and your stubborn refusal to believe what has been obvious for quite a long time.

Think about it JME..all those prophecies of the messiah..I think there were like a hundred of them..jesus fulfilled all of them....but even then it wasnt super clear to the man on the street..cuz the average man didnt know the prophecies....he hadnt studied them etc....he wasnt looking for the messiah....the same thing will happen to us....these things will be happening...shoot, they ARE happening NOW....and just like the bible says...(paraphrase) "when Jesus returns it will be just like the days of noah..people will be eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marraige". In other words they wont see the events for what they are.....even as far into it as armegeddon..at the VERY end of the 7 years..AFTER the mark of the beast etc etc..even then people will see the armies forming against Israel and they will say "awww, this aint armegeddon, hehe, this is just another UN action like weve seen in Bosnia....they arent going to try to destroy Israel. they just want to push her back to 1948/67 borders"

and "nahhhh, this aint the mark of the beast..its just a worldwide security system to eliminate terrorism and crime and drug dealers..it's just RFID for security"

and "aww man, he aint the antichrist...he is just the pres of the UN/EU, you bible thumpers kill me, lol..look, this is the guy who has brought peace to the world"

and by the way JME..please dont be fooled if your pastor or denomination preaches a "pre trib rapture" where all the Christians will be conveniently whisked away before the stuff hits the fan. The saints will be overcome for a season by the antichrist....uhh, how will we be overcome if we are already gone? lol. The whole pre-trib heresy is less than 200 years old....none of the church fathers ever spoke of it....Jesus plainly says that AFTER the tribulation will be the rapture (matt 24:29 etc)....and the real danger of the teaching is that many Christians have a false notion that they will be gone before the antichrist comes into power....and that they will be gone before the mark of the beast is implemented....so when they see this man rising...and they see something that looks like the "mark"...they will say "but that cant be the antichrist or the mark..cuz my pastor and Ken Copeland taught us that we will be gone before then". lol

The "end time" has been 'researched' and declared since before Christ. There have been literally hundreds of war-prophets that have said a new world conflict is imminent.

My opinion is, yes.. probably so, but doesn't it take most of the worlds countries involved to become a "world war"?..if so, then we can't really have a world war again. France, Germany..now Spain..won't fight..and these are just the larger and recognized countries..there are lots of smaller, less recognized countries that will bow to dictatorship before taking up arms.

God help them.!

Everyone these days has nukes [pretty much] and if they just start flying I think everyone is toast, especially how they are exponentially stronger than Fat Man and Little Boy. Well, Bovon, first of all, I only used the terminology "world war" because it was in the thread title....I dont know if WW1 or WW2 involved EVERY country, lol.

And we are not just talking about "a new conflict"...because conflicts come and go....we are talking about predetermined events....there is a "predetermined" set of events that will happen...once they are set in motion there is a certain timeframe and chain of events that will happen....this goes way beyond just another (yawn) war.

And yes, the 'end times' have been researched for many years.... but there will come that one generation when the PREDETERMINED time is reached...and many many things are in place now that havent EVER been possible before.

1) Israel is back in her own homeland....something that hasnt happened for almost 2000 years

2)The technology is pretty much here...with the "world wide WEB" and RFID and IPV6 and biometric tech etc to implement the "mark of the beast"....which hasnt EVER been possible for other generations

3) we now have a "united Europe" with one man as the head....and, what, 450 million people strong?

Those 3 things alone put THIS generation in a place totally different from any previous generation that has EVER existed.

There are many other things happening in these days...some of which are going largely unnoticed.

Everyone is eyeing Iraq....has anyone noticed that russia is now the worlds largest exporter of OIL?????? If I am not mistaken they just became #1. Has anyone noticed our gas prices? We are now financing their military build up.......looks like the bear will growl once again after all. (like the bible said all along)

How about our new missile shield defense system that isnt yet fully in place.....did anyone notice that Russia's new hypersonic missile makes our shield useless?

Surely we see the emrgence of China as a serious economic and military power....we are now feeling the weight of their force on our weakening economy......these things will contribute to weaken America more and more......with Israels one ally growing weaker and the rest of the world getting stronger, what tendency is that leading toward?? (perhaps we will somehow lose our veto power in the UN also ??)

One doesnt notice these things in the media cuz the media is too busy with the Jerry Springer type headlines.

not really as far as if you are referring to an individuals eternal destiny....but as far as a final certain series of world events..absolutely.

for example

The prophets of old saw events that would happen..they wrote of those events....they saw those events more or less as looking at a mountaintop...but they didnt see the valleys in between....and modern man all along has not believed the bible because for many many years we have been in one of those valleys....where it seems like time is passing and the world will go on unchanged forever. I can tell you know we are headed toward the mountain of all mountains as far as prophecies of the bible are concerned.

its sort of like a woman in pregnancy....for much of those 9 months its as if nothing is happening..she can come and go as she pleases etc....but then it starts getting "near her time"...now she CANT do as she pleases..cuz the baby is taking over...and when the baby is ready to come...THATS IT..NOTHING ELSE MATTERS AT THAT POINT!!!!


THAT is the time we are approaching....so please people, dont be lulled falsely by the previous "9 months"..because the birth pangs are rapidly approaching.

The war has started as of about 1989. The enemy is working hard to build forces and technology. The only thing missing is that the people in the western world have not figured it out yet. CBR/NBC weapons are dilligently being worked on by non national/government entities aka (terrorists~islamic fundimentalists). I am excited by one aspect of it though.....I have always appreciated open conflict as opposed to veiled takeovers etc. And one of the absolute travesties of the modern western Christian church has been the total lack of persecution.....but I am glad now because American Christians will soon enough have their oppurtunities to experience persecution and martyrdom as many around the world have experienced. Personally I am quite glad about that....cuz that will definitely seperate the wheat from the chaff.
