| roommate rant ver.2
This summer, he asked me if i would be alright if his girlfriend stayed here with him instead of moving back home. I asked him if she was going to pay rent and such. He said yes. I let last month slip because the semester ended mid-month. This month, he put a check for 1/2 the rent on my door. Nothing from his gf. I have the bigger bedroom, and they share a small one, so i half-see their logic. So I confronted both of them, i asked her directly, "do you think you have been here everyday this month"
she said yes
then i asked her what she was going to contribute monetarily
she said "nothing", and he said 'nothing".
then he was like, how are you inconvienenced at all with her here
so i go on to say, that the fridge has no room in it, the two of them are louder more of the time and later into the night, i havent been able to use the bathroom when she is in the shower, blah blah blah
so i said, at the very least, i expect utilities
he said what utilities does she use?
wtf?!?!
am i being unreasonable??? |

| Depends on how hot she is and if you could "accidently" see her naked.

Yup. Get over it. That kind of situation has killed more friendships than umm, other things. Be the bigger person and let it go.
Heck, get a girlfriend and have her move in. |

WTH, you're 6ft4, come on now, step on her or something.
If it's that much of a problem, find a way for her to contribute somehow. She buys dinners on Friday or something?? |

Listen if she wants to "live" there, she needs to remember that cost of living isn't cheap.
I say, if she stays longer I'd get a written agreement from her stating that she's going to pay something ie. part of rent or utilities.
If you and your friend live there and pay rent, why shouldn't she? Give her another month, then take some action.

No, don't "get over it"... I'm not too sure who this couple thinks they are, but the "two for one" deal wouldn't fly with me at all.
I can see it being different if she was rarely there, but if she's spending most nights there and you're having to wait for the washroom, etc, etc... I'd demand she pay her fair share.
What does your friend say when you remind him that he said she'd be paying rent when he initially asked you about this? |

Things change. You have to be a big boy to keep a decent livable situation. Lord knows I want to strangle my roommate, light his corpse on fire, and hang it on the side of the building as a warning to any who would further wrong me. |

Have her cook like Washe said, also make her tidy up the place as well. Give her some shores in return for her stay. |
