So yesterday I get this letter from Vehicle Notification Center in Arizona that my car is out of warranty.
I have a 99 dodge neon r/t and the warranty has been up since 36,000 miles. So this letter says that it has a special deal that is only given to select customers for certain cars! Also I need to call within 48 hours to receive this awesome deal!
They claim they can save me up to 40 - 60%! Since I was tired and had nothing better to do I decided to call them up.
I gave him all the info for my car and guess what! My car was eligible for an extended warranty from these guys! How exciting!!! He also warns me my car is listed in the " RED ZONE" which means my car could break down any moment! Then he proceeds to tell me about recalls and warnings that only they know about from Dodge about what they are finding wrong with my car. ( because apparently they don’t know that there are sites dedicated to releasing this information )
So I bite and ask them what it covers. Well apparently my car has 15,000 parts and all are covered excepted tires, air filters, belts, etc. So I ask the cost and they want me to pay $435 up front, then $150 for 12 months. So you ask how it works. Simple anytime I take it in I have a $100 deductible. They pick up the rest! WOW I said, (sarcastically) I asked if I could get a couple of days to research it out and see if I have the funds. Here is the kicker I must make a decision by the end of the phone call or the deal is voided. So I hung up.
Has anyone else dealt with this before? Him repeating that my car was in the " RED ZONE" constantly trying to put fear into me got old really quickly. |

A car warranty is like life insurance. They're betting your car doesn't break down and you're betting it will. |

$435 down and $150 for 12 months... lol... You could probably just buy a new car for that. |

Sounds like a democrat scaring old people by saying their medicare won't be there if they elect a republican...
OOh, I shouldn't say that, this isn't a political thread. I think it's despicable what that guy is doing though...using fear to make a sale instead of having some integrity and selling on peace of mind tactics. For me, that's worse than a telemarketer...and a job I could never do and sleep well at night. |

The warranty works like this, you take the car into the garage and pay the bill. Call the FBI or FTC.
