unfortunatley this can happen in ANY ISP, and I'm sure this won't be the last we hear of these occasions.

Not necessarily 92million, I'm saying ANY ISP can have any employee sell out email addresses.

The risk grows as the size of the ISP grows, and you have more hands in the cookiejar.
A giant like AOL needs to make it so the email addresses aren't easily farmed by employees to avoid problems like this.
VERY few people should have access to the full list, or even a portion of the list.

100,000 fine pttttht thats not a punishment, wonder what he got paid.

Vass he/she was paid $100,000 that wasnt the fine, hopefully it was much more. I hope they are able to take all of that money away before they have to pay the bill too

The fine DOES need to be MUCH more than what the email addresses are worth.
It needs to be set at like 10x what the income was for the addresses.

This reminds me of the AOL employee that used the company's customer database to contact Hollywood producers and actors. Instead of the being prosecuted, she now has a movie deal in the works.
