Moore says no problem, but Miramax may have other things to say.

Miramax isn't distributing it; Lions Gate is, and they have no objection. That's the point: Disney's agreement with Miramax allowed them to veto the distribution. The Weinsteins, who financed it, let Moore find another distributor. Not that they don't have an interest in it (and they sure are making a profit), but Moore is the copyright holder.

Why wouldn't a communist allow piracy?

it has nothing to do with communism j-excel. He is not an action movie director trying to make a buck. He's out there trying to make a change in government and the people of this country, and he (correctly IMO) sees downloading his movie as a way to get his message out there more easily. Not everything has to do with money, although hollywood seems to have forgotten that.

That said i still won't even go to the trouble to download it

if i was to download that entire waste of space some would call a movie, it would be the most worthless 3 hours or so of my life.
