Wal-Mart
You want to hear a beauty?
<Rant On>
Well I sold some parts to a friend of mine and he sent me a money order from Wal-Mart, Cool.
But here is where it goes down the toilet.........
I go down to the local Wal-Mart to cash it and they tell me they won't cash it unless it's made out to them. Now is this the most asinine thing I've ever heard of.
I tried to find an email address for their Corporate Headquarters but like some other companies they choose to remain in stealth mode.
So if anyone has an email address for the Wal-Mart bigwigs please post it or PM me with it.
I did email the following to all the addies I could find.
I receive a money order from a friend of mine issued by Wal-mart Financial Services.
And I went to the local Wal-Mart store in Waterville to cash it and they informed me that they could only cash it if it were made out to Wal-Mart. Now this has to be the most stupid thing I have ever heard of. When someone gets a money order from the Post Office you don't have to make it out to the Post Office to cash it now do you.
Whoever came up with this idea must have had there head screwed on backwards, After all it is a money order that has been paid for in cash and should be cashed for the person who's name has been written on the front of the money order.
I have been a Wal-Mart shopper for years but this has convinced me to shop elsewhere as there are alternatives to unsatisfied people!!!!!!

Sorry, got that off my chest. Sadly, I think walmart just screwed you!
I always use Kmart, or a grocery store. Walmart is a Nazi corporation, who needs to go to hell quick!

Heh, calm down dude. Walmart isn't evil. They are just greedy and don't mind at all screwing you over. If they were evil, they'd try and put other compeditors out of business. Oh, wait...

July 6th, 2004, 08:33 PM #5I am amazed at walmart's nazi tactics. They announce they will move into a small town, and when they finish building the monument to capitalistic greed, they send a bunch of people into smaller places, like mom and pop grocery stores. They take down the prices, say for a Bottle of Heinz Ketchup. They look at the price: $2.29 for the bottle. Then they take all their bullcrap back to headquarters and give all the info. Less then a week later, if that, go check the price at walmart. It's probably $1.88, because they put alot of pressure on the heinz company to give them the bottle for say $1.80. They only make 8 cents profit, but they are running the smaller store out of town!

After walmart has finished murdering the community, they will jack the prices sky high! Yes, it has happened. Go ask any small town what walmart does once they get in. Walmart is a sick, disgusting corporate cockroach that needs 50000000000000000000000000000 tons of mustard gas dumped on! I am so sick of them, and they just keep trashing las vegas here. They get denied a super center, so they build the smaller one, and 6 months later: Expansion!
6 Supercenters here, and 4 small box walmarts. 2 they just expanded, so that will make about 8 super centers, and 2 box ones left. How many do we need!

I hope they fail quickly. Come on walmart, pull a enron, and die already!

File the last two under: more incorrect use of the term "Nazi."

July 6th, 2004, 09:00 PM #7no, it isn't. study how the company works. They want to take over the world pretty much, and want a walmart on every street corner no doubt. They go into a community, run all the small businesses out, and then move onto the next one. Sounds like a nazi company to me

Wal-Mart is bad news, but just because something is bad news doesn't mean you can use "Nazi" to describe it, it's inaccurate and dishonest. There are terms that exist to describe huge corporate entities, and what they do. It isn't always necessary to resort to improper comparisons just because you don't like something.

A few comments..
did you try to talk to a manager, or another associate before leaving?
if you dont like wal-mart dont shop at it. easy as that. if they put your little mom and pop stores (most of which are crap (at least in my area)) out of business, then drive to the next one.
if you dont like it, then move. you are by no means forced to go there. so stop complaining.
ohh... and walmart does create alot of jobs. may be low paying ones, but is helping to get a few people off of welfare. so i dont have to pay for them

July 6th, 2004, 11:20 PM #11A common fallacy. They may create some (minimum wage) jobs by opening a store, however, each store they open drives tons of smaller local places out of business. Due to economies of scale, they can man their store with fewer people than the various businesses they killed, and hence the figure that each walmart that opens results in a net loss of 300 or so jobs (source was Fast Food Nation, but I don't remember exactly where he said it).ohh... and walmart does create alot of jobs.

Yes Wal-Mart creates jobs.......LOL........Try living on what they pay you. They keep everyone on short hours so they don't have to give any bennies. The only people who work there do it because they can't find a legit job and take this while their looking. But Wal-Mart seems to have found a way to dissuade people from even doing this by rotating their hours making it nearly impossible to look for another job. My wife worked there two weeks and said enough is enough.Go Pats

Regaring the money order, as a last resort go to a check cashing place. They probably won't charge you very much as their fees are risk - based.
Regarding Walmart...
Why dosen't anyone blame the customer? Americans can't avoid a good deal. Those aren't robots in those stores!Obama: The rich have the Federal Reserve and the poor have Harry Reid... LOL. Life really is unfair!

It's been cashed at my bank.
The point is wouldn't it be just great if you wrote out a check to someone from your bank. Then the person went to your bank to cash it and the bank said sorry you've got to cash that elsewhere.Go Pats

July 7th, 2004, 11:10 AM #15Well, actually Sam, I don't think it is such a fallacy.

ahem.. 'scuse me.
How much at walmart? .98 There is no excuse for a 200% price difference.
since I'm so off topic anyway.. You know my grocery store sells items by the each yet will not post a price for the individual price? They post it as 3 for xxx.
That should be against the law.
uh SPEEDO? why not just hit the bank?
a money order should be good at any of them.

For the record, email complaints carry very little weight with them. If you really want to make a point then sit down and write a genuine letter or two.
You guys crack me up with these complaints and Nazi remarks. Walmart is only there because the consumer put them there. No one forces us to shop there. No one forces the employees to work there. Its our own free will.

Mom and Pop shops pretty much have the purpose of supplying those with goods and services where the bigger stores can't make business. You won't find a Walmart in my town of >2000, but there's 3 Walmarts within a half an hour drive or less from me going west, north and south. East of me, you won't find a Walmart.
this post contains small bits of intelligence culminating to the appearance of wisdom.

I just heard on the news that Wal-Mart is being investigated for discriminating against its female workers. Even more publicity for the giant corporation.
Don't forget, they own Sam's Club too.
