One time i seen some Bum in downtown Toronto, and it was like minus 30 degress out and his dog he had with him was just dying of the cold, so i called the humane socioty and they took the dog away, i felt really bad for the poor homeless man so i gave him 5 bucks and baught him a big mac meal , that made my day. There needs to be tougher laws on animal abuse, and animals should be allowed to go into Homeless shelters and non profit housing

And a Black Lab at that. One of the most trusting, caring and almost sentient breed of dog out there today. This guy should be strung up in the Arizona desert with everything duck taped up except the privates.

I know cruelty to animals exists but I really hate to read about it.

It shouldn't happen, but two years in jail is plenty, if not overkill. O.J. gets nothing for murdering a woman, this guy gets 2 years for killing a dog. Something's not right...

Heh.. I agree.. But maybe I extended this a little.

I know these stories are horrible, but it happens everyday, just not very many get reported. Wont change until animals are treated as living creatures, instead of property.

I recently saw that a Humane shelter (or something like that) was being SUED by someone they had taken animals away from for cruelty (and they had done some REALLY bad stuff too). That's just outrageous.

And 2 years is not overkill. It doesn't matter if someone else got less than they deserved, it happens all the time (unfortunately). It's just good that this jerk actually got punished.
