I hate you. Haha. I wouldnt hesitate for a SECOND if i could go to DSL. Unfortunately i can not get any form of high speed, thank you very much Bell. Super high speed at 200-300+kbps is available in a 5 minute drive in every direction from my house, but i sit in a triangle of crappiness, with Bell having absolutely "no plans to upgrade the internet service in the near future". Super. So i either move, or live with the 28.8k crappiness. Hopefully ill get away to college next year, but that still doesnt make up for Bell being dicks.

Oh and you thought you spent too much time on the computer before? Sure the internet will be faster and you will not be waiting for downloads, but now it always on and it is alluring to use it every time you can.

Bell is terrible, the only way I can get DSL is the local ISP is offering it,and phone service for about half of my usual phone bill.Pretty cool for me eh?

well it doesnt matter, i could get DSL from any ISP, but the problem is is that the phone lines to my house and the surrounding houses are on old phone lines, which are owned by Bell, so unless Bell decides to upgrade the phone lines, i can never get high speed.

That's not good

We had the same situation, and it's taken 4 years to get the lines upgraded,of course town is thier main focus as that is where they will sell the most service and recoop thier money. It's still not availible outside of the city limits here for that same reason.

Hungrycookpot,

Have you thought about going with satellite? It sucks for games, but it pretty good for standard internet surfing and downloading.

thought about it, but decided it wasnt doable. Id have to go from starchoice to expressveiw, which would cost me a bundle, then id have to buy the sattelite equipment, which would cost me another bundle, (for satellite you need highspeed unless im mistaken, or you can buy a bunch of equipment which will let you upload faster), then unless i order all the satellite channels, which will cost a bundle, ill have to pay a bundle amount of money each month, so either way its gonna cost me yet another bundle. 3 bundles of cash for a internet system that doest even do gaming, doesnt add up to me.
