I would still marvel...cuz even in a "religion" forum the atheists would have the most to say, lol....have seen that time and again on other forums....

Yeah, I'm with you on that one John.

Personally, I am a believer, and make no bones about it...of course, I cannot prove it anymore than I can prove black is black, and white is white... I must take some earlier individuals say-so concerning that.

What I (and hundreds of thousands more) want to believe and discuss here is our business..and to be quite frank about it, I am getting a little fed up with those who profess to be atheists thread crapping in every religious thread that is begun with the thoughts of getting some input into the beliefs concerning Christianity.

As a professed Christian, I really should not feel or express this..but, I don't give a flying rats behind about those who are atheists...they can go rot in some hole in the ground somewhere without a hope or prayer of anything further..that we have no spirit that lives on after this earthly veil of tears is over...good riddance!

Well I think we should have an "atheists" forum so that the shoe will be on the other foot for a while with the threadcrapping, lol

I've been a member for what? 3 years now? And in that period of time we've had what, 2-3 surges of religiously oriented threads, and now you want a forum for religion? Come on man, you're taking this a little too seriously

yeah, the same thing has been suggested about political threads too. It's just as CM said, they come and go and right now it's just a high tide.

Could just be my observation, but isn't that a bit hypocritical?

I find the segmenting of the forum into distinct topics really would be a bad idea.

you get more diverse traffic when a person who normally does not frequent political threads see one which peeks their interest. Visibility to the most people is best.

the increased religious debate does not cause people with fluff pieces to lose traffic those puff pieces will see more traffic from the religious people who normally do not fequent puff pieces.

Segment it and your responses are less diverse and genreally boring.

If you do not like the religious threads, look at the title and do not enter. Seems like the best method to me.

I mean this is not some sort of a fear of seeing the word god is it?

If you are going to take my comments out of context, you could at least state it like it was intended.

Yes, my comment was hypocritical... I felt like blowing off some steam and I did...so what!!

    Calm yourself.

I quoted what needed to be quoted and nothing else. Nothing was taken out of context. What you said remains the same, with or without the excuse.

I mean no disrespect, but if your going to throw some heat, and then do the exact opposite of what you're preaching, expect some heat in return.

Post an angry rebuttle if you wish, but I don't think I will be replying.

It is the diversity of opinion I like. If I go to a religious website it is very one sided. Same for a bash kerry or bash bush site.

at a forum where there is a well rounded suite of topics it is much more interesting.

regarding political threads, can't call something a tide that doesn't ebb

Bovon, in response to your statement about atheists and threadcrapping - If we allow any religious point of view to be expressed, we must also allow those of non-religious. Where the problem lies is that people, rather than discussing the issue, blatantly attack eachother, or the ideas of others. Blatantly and with malice. It is not only the non-relgious members that have done this.

In my experience, religious threads do not degenerate because of the views any member expresses, for or against the topic, but because members disregard our rules and try to demean or undermine other members for their point of view. The reason we have those rules is so that everyone can get a fair shake at expressing their views. And every other member should respect that.

When members cross the line, that's when it becomes a problem. And we urge you to report those incidents to us. We need everybody's help to keep TIMO an open community.
