    Talking Coffee and Dogs.....

I was brewing a pot of coffee, and all of a sudden, Bindlestiff started to bark and whine. I looked over to see what was bothering him, when I found it was the noise from the coffee pot! It had never occured to me, I had never ran it since we adopted the dog! He was so freaked out by it, he was trying to attack it! LOL

Bindlestiff means 'Hobo'. It is from the depression era, and comes from the German language. Bindlestiff the dog, was picked up as a stray, and we adopted him from the local pound.

He is 65 lbs, and if you can believe it, loves cats! So much so, when we were walking him one evening, a little 5 lbs cat came right up to him, and they sort of 'adopted' each other! That little cat is named Snaps, and the two are the best of friends. At night, when Bindlestiff goes into his crate to sleep, Snaps will come over, and sit by the door to keep him company for a while.

Haha, that wouldnt be the weirdest thing ive ever seen. Back when I was younger, I (my family) had a horse, that "adopted" a baby lamb. They would hang out all day together, for years until the lamb, then sheep, died.

Currently, and through the weekend, I am dog sitting for one of my sister's dogs. Precious is a chow/shepard mix, and oddly enough, is afraid of cats! The first time we dog sat Precious, it took us two days to get her out of the closet where she hid! This time, Snaps walked right up to her, and sat down right up against her. You should have seen the look on Precious' face. This time though, she has not hid even once. I guess Snaps' behaviour has reassured Precious.
