From a CNN article today about Cheney on the campaign trail -- Quote:
Juli Weiss, 63, of Suttons Bay, said she was confident Bush and Cheney would prevail.
"God gave them to us four years ago when we needed them," she said. "I have faith he will give them to us again."
| What produces morons like her? Is it athletes on TV saying God won the game for them? Do churches in America teach them crap like that? |

I'm sure an alcoholic goes home and says Thank god for liquor!
Chances are the church doesn't teach that either.

Sounds like true words spoken by a Fox News viewer. In all honestly I think that Pres. Bush uses religious comments and God to dupe older Christian conservatives into voting for him. It worked on my mom in 2000 but fortunately she's become alot more aware of recent events and how the current Presidency has affected the past 4 years... and now she's voting for Kerry. |

Very true ritalin kid, unfortunately, on purpose or not, Bush makes it sound like a vote for Kerry means you hate god. I think religion should have to stay completely out of politics for just this reason, so people can use their brains for important things, like choosing how they want their country to be run, and save the religious junk for later. |

Pexster, who are you to judge?
For those of us who believe in God, he's in control, right? so he allowed, or "gave" Bush to us. Will he do it again? we'll see in a couple of weeks.
All you liberals and your hopeless negatism towards religion is very rude and wrong. grow up! as much as some of you want, God is thoroughly twisted into politics, and that will never change. face it, we all have a "god". For some its money, others a figure, others believe in the power of themselves and their can-do attitude.

Fair enough. I suggest to all those who believe as you do, tonyj15, to stay at home, or at least stay away from the polls. After all, God will decide, so there's no need to go out of your way to vote!
You are right that I am often quite negative towards organized religions. They have caused a lot of hatred and pain in this world, all under the guise of doing the opposite.
I agree, though, that I shouldn't be so judgmental. It's a character flaw! |
