Had all four yanked at one time also - did it about 15 years ago in my teens. They put me in the chair...hooked me up to something and had me count backwards from 100...I got to 98 and that was the last thing I remember.

I only had three. Weird, no? All three got yanked, but not before they ruined a nice straight row of teeth.
You can't fix stupidity.

Sadly I do, and they are coming in impacted.

Had mine taken out and I still have the holes. I wish they would close up quick-like...I am tired of food accumulating back there!

I HAD wisdom teeth, but I had them pulled this year. Dry sockets are evil!

heh! i have all four, and so far dentist says i won't need any of them pulled. i guess having a big head (and consequently a big mouth) has its advantages!
unfortunately, i still feel none the wiser for having them...Nerd

Sorry, you guys seem to have misunderstood the poll. I meant I have never had any wisdom teeth come in, and none are going to come in, I just don't get them at all. Some people in my family are like that, and I was wondering if anyone else was. Brandon seems to be the only one so far.

Wow. 50/50 so far.
Yeah, you should have clarified. Then it would be 32 to 2.

Smoker, by any chance?I only have the top two nowadays; I had all 32 teeth until my 40s, but I've lost a lot since then.
Many people have only 1,2 or 3 wisdom teeth. Some may have 8.

He was referring to smoking, the single greatest risk factor for periodontal disease in adults. As for it being "too late", in my view it is not. I'm certain the implant dentistry you enjoy could not have been done if you hadn't stopped. Further, your brave honesty here may connect with someone in time for them to drop the cigarettes and save their teeth and more.Indeed, I was. Haven't been for twenty years, now, but it was probably too late.
There's the "wisdom" some of you were looking for.

apparantly my wisdom teeth are coming in perfectly, they wont need to be removed that is. Am i strange? (ive always had perfect teeth, never had a cavity, and i was actually rather lax on my brushing when i was younger)

I have them but one was pulled due to infection. The dentist actually had his knee on my chest trying to pull that sucker out. You should see the roots, they looked like claws.

No, but I still consider myself to be wise.

I still got them. Dentist told me I should have them removed, but as long as they don't start causing problems, they will stay right there.

All of mine are in and they'll stay in. Dentist said I have enough room for them all.
