| Have a look at this bicycle and tell me what you think---
Yes its an "odd" bike--- The pic is decieving, it IS adult sized for 5'8" and taller riders---its obviously purpose built for "cruising" and made by Schwinn (they actually havnt made them yet)---constructed entirely of aluminum with the main downtube being "hydroformed", cnc machined crank, hubs and other components, fr/rr disc brakes, flame embroidered leather seat, hand striped matt black "ratrod" paint, springer front fork---Schwinn recently made a new 20" StingRay with a chopper appearance that has gone over real well and the call was for an adult sized version, they are also re-introducing some of the old bikes like the "Krate" series Pea Picker, Silver Ghost, and "Original StingRay" etc with great popularity.
These bikes are supposed to be built before Xmas in a limited numbered series of 1000 bikes available to certified ASC Schwinn dealers worldwide (there will be 10-20 bikes in my state of California)---I pre-purchased one as a gamble (I wont be riding it myself) it might end up being a wallhanger, a gift, or an oddball small investment, conversation piece etc... SO---My question IS---Do you like it at all?
OR is it just too damn dorky looking to be functional? do ya think there will be any interest in a bike like this? would you like one for cruizin the hot rod shows, beach, bike path or something?
There has been one for sale on eBay---a guy paid $1300 for it and has to wait like me to get it...

That sort of thing is getting pretty popular now days. I saw a guy riding a chopper-cycle around campus the other day. I'd say if you left it on the street, someone would probably steal it. And with such a low production number, seems like a worthy investment to me.
Also, fix your sig. Tags don't work. |

seems like that seat would really hurt due to the laid back position....
for instance when you sit on a regular bike's seat you arent sitting on your tailbone etc...but with the laid back angle of that bike looks like you'd be back on your tailbone
of course we know it isnt designed for long distances, lol
not for hills either (doesnt look like youd be able to stand up and peddle)

I think those type of bikes look stupid but that is only my opinion. However, if building a bike like that is a younger persons hobby and it keeps him out of trouble, I say build away! |

I've ridden one at walmart;
The seat is uncomfortable, and too far forward for that position, my legs hit the bars. It's also very hard to control, heavier than a full-blown downhill bike, and not as pretty in person. |
