| Too funny... amateur hour.
An IM conversation. I thought this was hilarious, and considering everyone here is techie nuts about computers, I thought I would share the n00bness.
Notice Brians punchline - (MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%). In the previous week he had, "COMPUTER IS SCREWED!"
Have fun reading this one. I am ZeR0 of course.
ZeR0 says:
as long as you can do your windows updates
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
i dont do windows updates
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
waste of time
ZeR0 says:
ROFL
ZeR0 says:
happy virus/crash/spyware/malware/vulnerbility hunting
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
you should see my start menu
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
there are about 7 things that stop all that stuff and i dont even know how to work them yet
ZeR0 says:
dude what you said is just priceless... I'm going to put this on a tech forum that discuesses PC stuff... if you don't mind
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
my buddy installed them for me and im just looking at this mass of icons
ZeR0 says:
ROFL
ZeR0 says:
omfg, keep talking, I'm posting all of this
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
guy, i couldnt care lol
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
it'll have a virus on it soon enough anyway
ZeR0 says:
the reason you get viruses is because you don't do updates
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
no, its because a) i download them so i can modify them and send them to people
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
and B) im curious
ZeR0 says:
dude, you can still download viruses, modify them or what not, and have a safe system
ZeR0 says:
and what exactly do you modify?
ZeR0 says:
what viruses do you download?
ZeR0 says:
what do you use to modify them?
ZeR0 says:
how?
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
to many questions
ZeR0 says:
okay so what viruses have you modded?
ZeR0 says:
wait wait... lol, you're the fat winblaster kid
ZeR0 says:
ROFL
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
oh god no
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
that thing drove me nuts
ZeR0 says:
why?
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
whoever created that **** should be stabbed repeatably
BriAN -- MY COMPUTER IS WORKING 110%!!!! says:
there was one i had on my computer
ZeR0 says:
lol, why it wasn't anything... it was a simple program that could be written just as easily as a batch file... all you had to do was end the process and delete the core file from the SYSTEM directory
This last part killed me. I remember when I was like 12 and used to say, oh yeah I make viruses and nail people with them that *mess* with me. Unfortunately this guy is like mid 20's.

Sounds like the guy who's computer I fix. I have a list of programs for troubleshooting his system, plus cleansing it when it becomes fouled up and marked the folder "DO NOT OPEN"
Invariably however, I end up going over and fixing something because he's deleting stuff with Hijack this! and has no idea what he is doing |

Theres this girl in my college technology class that brought her computer in one day because it was going slow.
I loaded spybot and ad-aware and found about 400 items and cleaned them up.
The next day she said she went home and bought spykiller for $50 because it looked prettier than spybot or adaware
I told her that spykiller is worse than almost any other spycleaner out there. The program will even 'fake' a find if it can't find anything just to make you think its working. |
