Just got my SAT scores in.
1220. Much less that I had hoped for. That was my only shot at taking them too, I had origionally planned on taking them next year, but since I'm now graduating this year, I can't...

SAT to me seem so worthless. Its all you talk about your Senior year of highschool, and atleast at my college, NO ONE CARES. I mean I had some real idiots at my school and there SAT scores couldn't have been very high, but they still got in.

P.S. I got a 1370 when I took mine :P

Relax. I got a 1240 and my tuition paid for.
Although that was a music scholarship.

1220 doesn't sound too bad. I can tell you one thing, after you get to college, no one cares what your SAT score was.

Have you thought about taking the ACT? The testing methodology is structured differently from the SAT, so you may score considerable better depending upon your previous testing experience.

I much prefered the ACT to SAT. That being said 1220 is pretty good and if you take the ACT you could probably score over 30.

I would guess a more realistic score of ~ 23 - 24.

BTW, when I took the ACT, back in '74, the national average was 24.

A 1220 will get you into pretty much anywhere. Just take it again if you are so distraught over this score. I got an 1150 my first time, and I was content with that up until last month...

I can't take it again -- Senior. December, I have to take the SAT II's.
Most of the colleges I'm looking at have about 1400 as their lowest accepting scores.

Are you sure you have to take the SAT II? I took the SAT twice and the second time i took after i graduated high school, but before i'd started college. Of course this was 4 years ago and things might have changed.

November 23rd, 2004, 05:15 PM #17I don't know about that. My SAT was 1240, and my ACT overall was 28.

I'm glad I never took SATs. The ACT was bad enough. I didn't do badly, but I've heard the horror stories about SATs.
Colleges should have their own entrance exams depending on what you want to study. If you're a music major, there's no reason for you to have to score 28 on your English on the ACT, etc.

Epy... I have been in the most advanced classes my schools have offered since elementary.
Lets just say that I'm in pre-calc right now. Thats how advanced my H/S gets.
To get into WPI or MIT I need the SAT II's. Most colleges don't require them

Whir, I know people who want to do music in college and they have to perform for an entrance exam. Of course, I agree with you in that if you are majoring in physics, it is stupid to have an English requirement.
