| Distributed Computing Poll
I know a lot of Us run various Distibuted computing projects. What I would like to find out is what projects people are involved in.
By the way for those that run more than one it is multiple choice.

"Other" has been added to the choices.
BTW, I participate in FaD.

FAD all the way. At least an idling computer can do something useful no matter what program you work with. |

I voted none, primarily because I think it is "fluff", meaning that it is not actually used in research, the programs WANT them to and submit it, but I don't think anyone uses it.
I looked quite a bit about FAD and beyond their own information, I could not find that any actual researchers were using the data.
I suspect this is because the data is not "trusted". But, thats just my theory.

I suspect this is because the data is not "trusted". But, thats just my theory. | It's not like the program is causing harm to your computer, unless you're reluctant to run your CPU at 100% all the time. I just run it anyway, regardless of scientific merit, and try to help out not only FAD, but Team TechIMO. If it is actually going towards something useful (I'm still skeptical myself), then all the better. As if my computer has something better to do... |
