| Recommend beaches in Florida
Can anyone recommend beaches in Florida? I am thinking of taking my family to Florida and my daughters love to play in the sand. |

If you are thinking about going soon, then scratch north FL off your list. It is too cold up there right now, at least for me.
Moving down in the state, I can highly recommend Clearwater Beach. It has endless miles of public sand, truly clear water, and daytime temps warm enough (75-80F) to actually enjoy the beach this time of year. Another important selling feature is that Clearwater Beach attracts more families than partying teenagers and young adults, so it is a much safer town for children than places like Panama Beach, Miami Beach, or Daytona Beach (all considered spring break party towns!).
On the downside, the southern portions of the Gulf coast (from Tampa down) are currently having a slight red tide issue. However, this shouldn't be a problem assuming you are not immediately traveling down here for a couple of more weeks.

Last I knew, the red tide issue was moving south at a pretty good clip, so I doubt you will have any concerns in March.
One big issue! You will be coming down here in the middle of spring break. Places like Clearwater and Sarasota (further south) crack down on partying, but still expect any coastal town in FL to be swamped with thousands of out-of-state tourists.
Wherever you decide to go, now would be a good time to make plans and book rooms. |

I called Best Western Sea Wake Beach and they could only give me reservations for two nights, things are filling up. I anticipate that I could get better rates and more availibility farther away from the beach. |

"kinda crazy"
Daytona becomes a loony bin in March. I avoid the place during spring break.
Phen, if you think Daytona can get wild during spring break, then take a quick drive down to South Beach next month. |
