| Whassa Matta with "Old Threads" Being Revived?
I've noticed that sometimes people 'diss' those who revive an "old" thread.
How come?
Hey, sometimes those "old threads" have some pretty good content on 'em...
And I happen to like it when people add something fresh to a conversation that was pretty good in the first place.
What's up with that attitude? I dis-understand it. |

I dont see the problem with it at all...as long as it isnt your own thread that you keep bumping etc
It would make a lot of sense to revive some threads after the process of time...for example at this point any thread debating "weapons of mass destruction" would seem to be fodder for revival....

Of course, if the person didn't realize the thread was two years old, that's an honest mistake. Knowingly bringing that thread back to life is rediculous, in my opinion.

Well.. the only ones I find silly are the ones where someone pulls a thread from 2 years ago and posts and answer that has already been given. if they give a valid answer well.. I still think its still but on the other hand its good to have a complete thread incase another user has the same question and takes the time to search for it first before posting but we know how often that happens |

I'm talking about the creative stuff that's happened here, that uplift people.
Megalos' "Sleep-'N-Post" stuff comes to mind. Classic!
Also, I noticed a new member reviving a thread about "Factoring", where she said, "I'm a factor"...and do all you guys understand what she was saying?
She got kinda shouted down...
I see no reason for that. What, we haven't got a minute to quiz this person, find out what she's on about?
I'm fairly busy usually, but I ain't THAT busy! |

well I just thought of WMD cuz I happened to watch an old C-span yesterday with arch NeoCon Bill Kristol on one side of the table and Daniel Ellsburg on the other
it was one week into the Iraq war...so of course WMD was being strongly discussed amid a lot of antiwar sentiment....
to see this guys (Kristol) words from back then NOW would be quite an education....thats what the passage of time is supposed to be |
