| Pope John Paul II About To Die Vatican: Pope's Condition Very Grave Quote: |
Pope John Paul II's condition is "very grave" and he has begun showing the first signs of losing consciousness, spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls said in the Vatican's latest update on Saturday morning.
| Very sad day for the entire world.
He touched us all.

He gave the Polish people the confidence to stand up to Russia, and helped lead to the demise to the Soviet Union.
It seems that the lines of history crossed with the Pope, President Reagan, and Gorbachev to make the world a safer place.

I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.

Very sad day indeed. I feel extremely sad because he was a great energetic Pope and he has done soo much for the church and the world, and we most likely may never see another pope like that again.
Also, it is very sad for me to see a pope from the same country as me die.
God bless him and everyone keep him in your prayers during his last moments.

I'm not Catholic - Lutheran I am.
Very very sad.
He was one of the greatest men in the last 100 years.

The more I watch and listen the more I realize the impact he had on the world.
They are now referring to him as 'Pope John Paul The Great'.
Very fitting IMO.
