Anyway, yes...it was a ripoff. Someone bought it...I assume a wealthy Firebird enthusiast. From the looks of it, it was in near mint condition. I think it had around 20,000 miles, too.
But when I stepped back, I said to myself: "A new, fully loaded Mustang GT could be had for less, so looking at this is silly."
Pros of the Firebird: 5.7 liter V8 (more torque and horsepower) compared to the 4.6 of the Mustang. 6 speed transmission compared to the 5 of the Mustang. Pretty neat styling, though not as nice as the Mustang.
Cons: Waaaaayy overpriced; used; it's not a Ford, nor is it a Mustang; waaaaayyyy overpriced. |
haha TRB this is were our opinions rival, all the fords my family has owned have had nothing but trouble, (bad luck or quality? who knows) I'm a GM guy as im sure you can tell by my avatar, and i would gladly pay the same price for a 02 transam as i would for a 05 mustang GT.

My car has been in the family for almost 19 years and is still going strong mechanically. Sure, the upholstery is going bad along with the rubber stuff and the dashboard, but the intergral drivetrain components are performing outstandingly. However, we had a 1989 F-250 that had nothing but problems: transmission and fuel pumps mostly. The thing barely had 60,000 miles on it when we sold it in 2002.
The bottom line is: if anyone gets a lemon these days it's simply due to bad luck. I like or dislike car companies for more than build quality. I've driven Chevys and I just hate the feel of them. Either way, I'm a Ford man for life unless something catastrophic happens. |

So say I have a car with 17" wheels stock. Then, let's say I put 18" wheels on. Naturally, there's going to be an inaccuracy in the speedometer reading. I would need to change the speedometer sensor gear, to obtain the right ratio for the new size tires, right? |

Finally found a car for my mom.
2005 Avalon Limited. This car is the nicest car I have ever driven.

I think I want this color scheme with those wheels. Nevermind what I said earlier about bigger wheels... |
