And you shouldn't be hotlinking fast-autos.net's and toyota.com's photos.

You know what that means, Whir. Relinquishment of your mod status, transferred over to me for the day. Slacker.

Um. No? But I'd be happy to change your user title for you to something more appropriate.

What would that be? "Person who does Whir's job but isn't a mod"? That's too long.

Yes, Whir....beg Bubba to have a night off once a week.

Boy, I'm sure glad we still have that smiley.

So I tried to e-brake my mom's Protege into the driveway off the ice in the road. I ended up skidding into the snow where the curb is supposed to be.

You just need more practice. I could do things with the e-brake in the Grand Am that amazed even me.

Still trying to learn the Contour. It's got a weird weight distribution.

I started the skid too late. I can have fun with the car doing that, but I'm not precise. I'd much rather have driven my LTD with its RWD, but alas, the Protege was parked behind it.

ok you carheads, see if you can give me some advice. 94 ford taurus, after about 30 minutes of driving, when i come to a complete stop, if i were to accelerate immediately, i'd go no where. If i sit still for about 3 seconds, the whole kicks forward like a quick jerk, ie: kicking into gear, then i can go as desired. checked the trasmission fluid after driving for an hour and it was in the middle of the hash marks on the dipstick, so i think it's fine. for those first thirty minutes it works fine, it's like something or some fluid is warming up and causing the problem.

Sounds like a tranny problem. Fluid level means nothing. What color was the fluid, red or brown?

I think those Tauruses had junky trannies that required constant care. Rob'd be the one to ask.

Just so you know, Ep, if you don't already, "mugen" means infinite/infinity.

The top picture looks more like a Mazda 6 to me personally.

The 3 second delay is most likely the tranny taking it's sweet time building up hydraulic pressure...your pump is most likely weak.

What color is the tranny fluid...it should be red, not brown, or brownish read.

Smell it, it shouldn't smell bad or burnt. If you need an example, smell new tranny fluid, it should smell the same, but warmer if you've driven the car first.
