Right now I have no problem with the engine of my truck. Its just that the manual never said anything about chaning the shocks, so I assume they mean the shocks will last 250,000 miles. But in reality I have already replaced the back shocks because they were leaking oil and my back end would bounce over bumps. My front end is getting really bad as well but I do not hav ethe machine to compress the front spring to allow me to swap out the shocks myself.

People just don't take care of there cars and then blame the companies.
| The problem is there is little agreement on the idea of maintenance. For me that means regular servicing of engine oil/filter, transmission oil/filter, air filter, spark plugs, plug wires, PCV valve, timing belt/chain, and various other parts. To other people, their idea of maintenance is to change the engine oil/filter every 5000 miles and wait until something breaks to service it. Over the same period of time, both methods typically cost about the same, with the difference being a properly maintained car runs better and lasts longer. To each his own… |

Very true rob, the standard "Just get's in the car and goes" doesn't usually do anything but oil changes/air filters changes. You see their car's in the shop a lot more though.
What kills me the most is when people buy brand new cars push the motor the first 500miles (especially on sports cars..)
