You could have a grounding issue, but it still sounds like a weak cell in the battery or a failing alternator.
Curious, what type of charging system test did Advance do? A basic test, or a load-based battery test? My local store can do load-based battery testing, though the last time I took a battery for testing, it was not installed in the car. I just took the battery by itself, and the guy ran a pull down and recharge test to see if the battery could hold a good charge.

Well i'm not really sure what kind of test it was, all I know was he had definately kept the rpm's high when doing it. I don't think he ran anything electrical such as lights, radio, etc. during the test.
If it was a grounding issue, what would be a good place to look? Nothing has really been touched under the hood.
Thanks, Rob

Check the connections at the battery. Loosen them, twist them slightly back and forth a few times, then tighten them back down.
The black wire off the battery is the ground. See if you can track it down. It should ground back to your chassis. If the connection point looks corroded or rusted, then take it lose, clean it up with a wire brush, and re-attach it.
You can do the same for the red positive wire. It runs from the battery back to the alternator. |

Sorry for the late reply, been so busy with work and watching my niece and nephew.
All the connections seem to be in good condition, about a month ago I did clean the battery terminals and connections. I also a few days ago made sure all connections were tight, whether it be by reconnection, or reconnection and cleaning.
See, the weird thing is the battery doesn't seem to be draining actually....I went out shortly after my last post (was in a rush to get to work and gave it another try) and it power was there and it started fine on its on.
Possibly an ignition issue? It has been running fine since, which is good though. But who knows...I don't want to think it's all well then go out and get stuck somewhere, ya know?
Thanks again for all your input Rob, it's really appreciated! |

Sorry for not reading all the threads in here (LOL), I was wondering if there were any other TomTom ONE users. I have one and wanted to see if anyone has any tips or tricks for getting the most out of the unit. |

No GPS navigation in my cars. I was thinking about a cheap unit for my Maxx.
I have Google Maps on my Moto Q phone. It works decently for my purposes. |

GPS? Come on, now. What ever happened to the fun and excitement of taking a road for the hell of it, just to see where it goes...then using your sense of direction to get back?
I sucked with directions and the like, but just by driving around, I've gotten a lot better - my sense of direction is greatly improved. Plus, it's never cool to get lost when you have a lady in the car...and it's emasculating to have to use a GPS. |
