Yeah, it really scared me when it caught the manhole.
I had a feeling the engine crossmember caught something, but thought something more serious, like possibly the oil pan took the blow.
I immediately pulled over and took a look. Saw the crossmember dented and was somewhat relieved because I know the oil pan sits quite a bit higher.
And even when rocking the truck yesterday seeing how low it would squat, it was still "safely" high off the ground -- as in it won't catch the ground when the truck squats. Heh.
I also wanted to run a slighter wider tire so that it would sit a little better on the wheel (currently I have a small lip), but I wanted every bit of clearance. I wanted to run 235/40's instead, but they're about 0.3" taller, and honestly, I need every 0.3" I can get. LOL.
If it wasn't for the c-notch, I wouldn't be able to bring the rear end another inch lower. But now that we notched it a couple weekends ago, I can. But that means notching the bed brace to clear the pumpkin -- which will get taken care of on Saturday. |

The clip is hosted via a third-party site instead of SF.
I viewed the clip a few months ago when it was making the rounds. As noted by many, it is an interesting project, but it removes much of the positives offered by the EVO 4G63T AWD platform.

True, but amazing nonetheless. LS1's seem to be swapped into nearly everything |

I thought I had rail dust on the Mustang, so I took it to the body shop for them to look at it. They said it's not, so I'm plum out of ideas.
It's little particulates that seem to have been embedded on the surface of the paint, and it can be felt when rubbing a fingernail over it. It's also mostly on the horizontal surfaces, to that tells me something must've come down on it, but I don't know what. Maybe crap from trees? I really don't know, but it's not a huge concern - I'm not trying to keep a show car, but it's little things like this that bug me. I guess I could try waxing once a month for a while.... |

Pick yourself up a clay bar and some detailing spray, John.
Spray to detailing spray on the vehicle and use it as a lube for the clay bar and rub it all over the affected areas. If they're not under the paint, it should pick most of them off if rubbed long enough.
I've used the kit from Meguiar's and have had excellent results. Comes with two bars, the detailing spray, a cleaner wax and a microfiber towel.
When you're done with the clay bar, be sure to wax it!!
My preferred choice of wax is Zymol. And I use the Creme for my white truck. You'll want the Carbon for your black Mustang.
It's expensive, but it's the best wax I've come upon so far. And the can lasts for ages. |

Oh no. I assure, if you parked with a parking block in front of your truck, I could drive right up onto it.
Lowering trucks... What's this world coming to? /sigh |

I'm going to be dropping my rear end tomorrow!! Can't wait.
It'll bring my rear end down to 27" and 26.5" in the front (measured from the ground to the fender lip at the center of the wheel).
The 4" blocks:
Really beefy!! |

A mid 12 second Colorado. Pretty sick considering the I5's with intake, exhaust and depending on cab config, a tune as well, generally only run 15's or high 14's with the regular cabs.
Besides a 100 shot of nitrous and a crazy tune, I don't know what else he has done (intake and exhaust is a given). He doesn't share very much on the forums. Heh. Here we go:
14.83@91 mph:1/4 (no nos) 12.46@105 mph(on nos)
K-N air intake
Dynomax Bullet exhaust-gutted cats with a cut-out
hp tuner
TNT F2-100shot
Electric Fans
Jet Servo
4:10 Gears
Mickey Thompson E/T STREET'S
3/4 drop
