The car does have problems with getting traction. It may be the tires he is running. (Hi performance street, no drag radials)

Well, pulled the wheel bearing hub out of the grand am, seems okay...nothing physically noticeable about it being wrong that I can tell. The half shaft seems okay, but I'd like to make sure before I put everything back together... |

Replaced the wheel bearing and the noise seems to be gone, but I'm not convinced. I'll just keep my eye on it I guess. |

anyone test drive or own a Mazda 3/6 Sedan? I have been eyeing them for the last year or so and man, i love the style of the body. The fuel economy is good enough for california gas prices ...
Thoughts? |

After it setting for 2-3 months, I got the Talon back together last night, then dropped it off at the shop this morning. I didn't actually break any engine mounts, but there is enough wear to be annoying to me. The shop guys would have probably kept driving it. Oh well, difference of opinion, as I am the one driving it.
I am having the back mount replaced, as it is the primary frame mount. I might have the front mount replaced as well, depending upon if the new back mount does or does not help.
Anyway, I will probably drive it for awhile, then sell it once it starts boring again. I have been planning to list the wagon as well, which I will probably do this weekend after washing it and cleaning the rims.
Once those two are gone, I will be down to the Maxx, which is about all I need for transportation. If I go down to just the Maxx, I am seriously thinking about sending the ECM for a mild tune, installing the Maxx SS strut bar, and maybe look into some exhaust. Going back to one car would also chop some serious money out of my insurance costs.

Talon fixed. Smooth going into gear. Wound it up to about 7000RPM on the way back home. Smooth during changes. Excellent. |

Hmmm, speaking of which I hope my motor mounts and tranny mounts last...with the slightly high idle, it really "clunks" when I put it in gear.
Maybe I should clean the IAC motor again, as that did the trick for a while. The "high" idle now is no where what it used to be though. |

Do you have a MAF sensor, or is your system using a MAP sensor? If MAF, clean it while clearning your IAC. Just spray the MAF with a little electrical contact cleaner. Let the cleaner dissolve and evaporate for 15 minutes or so before starting the engine. |
