Here is a video of how the Alfa Romeo 147 gta stacks up against other comparible cars.
As you can tell, it has a beast of en engine (250hp V6) but its handling is sacrificed by the extra weight.
So what does that mean? Americans will love it because its a car that goes fast in a straight line but can't compete in corners

Tire warranties? More like pro-rated garbage, and that is assuming you can even prove any incurred problems are related to defects instead of abuse. Buy tires for whatever specific requirements, not for some insipid tread-life "warranty."

The treadwear rating can be helpful however, though it's really only good for comparing tires from the same manufacturer.
Speaking of tires, I too am just about to head out to Discount Tire for a new set of rears.

From what I have seen, companies that put a warranty on a tire is basically telling you the expect life of a tire. The Potenzs have a 40,000 miles warranty, while the Goodyears have about a 30,000 mile life. And from what I have seen, that points towards the Potenzas having a much better tread wear.
I was looking for a tire that will give me good street performance, rain performance, and long tread life and the Potenzas seem to be the best choice. |

I watched the video again I posted above and caught a comment that the driver of the 147 gta said. He said that the traction control can't be turned off, which is the same thing Fifth Gear said when they reviewed the car, and how it really hinders the cars performance around a track as it is constantly keeping the car from getting into trouble. |

Loan it to me for awhile, and those MPG numbers could likely be down towards the single digit range. |

Hey Rob! It has been quite a while. Everything is great here, thanks. How about yourself?
The truck is a money pit. lol. I'm not sure what the last thing done to it since I last posted.
I had my tailgate shaved a few months ago, carpeted my floor, tonneau cover, along with new front drop shocks (which are amazing!!) and drop springs. I also put in a set of train horns with a 3 gal tank and Viair 380c compressor.
I'm waiting on my Avic D3 which should be here soon. I was running 2 sealed 12's behind my seats for a while, but I ditched those because they were taking up wayyy too much leg room. Looking at possibly a single ported 10 or 12 SoudSplinter. |
