Last time around, I think you were notching the frame for suspension clearance. Looks like you are making good progress.
Let me know how ya' like that Pioneer navigation headunit. From what I have seen on the net, the D3 looks to have a rather nice touchscreen display, especially for contrast and clarity.
I am pretty much out of the car audio scene. Pulled the twelves and amp out of the Sable wagon, which for some reason I still own. Hmmm....
I haven't done much of anything to the Maxx, literally. It mostly collects dust in the garage, right alongside the Talon, though I have been trying somewhat to at least occasionally drive the Talon.

Oh! Well I've dropped the truck since the notch.
I'm at a 5.5/6 drop now. Looking at going one more inch in the rear to level it off.
I'll definitely let you know about that HU. I know a couple guys who have it and they love it. The one draw back to it is the fact that you have to have the DVD disc inside the one and only slot reader for the navigation to function.
But you, out of the car audio scene?! I don't believe it!!
So the wagon is still your DD?
I remember your plan for the Talon was to go all out on it, no?? |

I somewhat fell out of the car scene for awhile, so not much of anything other than maintenance has been done to any of my rides in many months.
I still need to sell two cars, then maybe replace them with a classic or sports car. I have been interested in a classic on a local lot, but someone in Sweden moved on the deal before me. I should know by mid-week if he (she?) is actually going to take the car. If not, I might move on the deal, but the numbers are going to have to be right, as it is currently overpriced by a couple of thousand or so. |

Relatively low mileage. Largely original. It would be a good car for a cruise in or maybe a local show, but not quite on par for a serious show competition IMO.

Here is a pic: Attachment 19588 | Which of the GM engines does it have? The 302, 327, 350 or 400 cu? |

The one I am looking at is a hand-built classic Avanti II on a Studebaker chassis with a GM drivetrain. 350 engine. 400 trans. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studeba...anti#Avanti_II
The later produced ultra-rare convertibles from around 1990-1991 can get towards the $50k range on the used market.
As you have discovered, the new "Avanti" shares little in common with the Studebaker-derived classics. I don't know much about pricing for the Ford-based replicas, though I would suspect maybe two to three times the cost of a Mustang GT, if not more since there are only 150 per year being manufactured AFAIK. |
