It actually wasn't too bad at idle. Now at WOT and 5500RPM, you might not have wanted to be cruising beside or behind it with your windows down.

And now that we have the colder weather, it's going to be worse because my tranny doesn't like OD when its cold out, so I get to see 2500 RPM at highway speed. Maybe Santa will bring me a new exhaust system. |

Speaking of exhausts, every now and then it will sound like my exhaust is almost "clogged". It will sound like a Bass that just can't handle that low of a frequency/pumped too loud. It's hard to explain. It is a 50/50 as to when it does it.
I hit the cat converter with a soft mallet and nothing rattled or sounded loose, so I'm not really sure where to start.
Boy oh boy I've still got some work to do...
-Power Steering Pump and Reservoir still need replacement
-Find out what's causing exhaust noise
-Find out why my city gas mileage dipped down to 12.6mpg
-Find out why my suspension is clunking at the wheels when going over slight bumps or when turned sharp left then sharp right (wheel bearings?)
20 year old Jeep = Never ending project

Perhaps an O2 sensor (MPG), clogged catalytic (MPG+sound), or similar emissions system issue. |

IIRC, I averaged around 16-17MPG on the highway over the weekend, but part of that mileage was up and down speeds due to construction and traffic. Otherwise, I was usually cruising at Interstate speeds. It might do more like 20-22MPG on open flat road at 60MPH. Around town? I am thinking 8-12MPG, though maybe 12-14MPG if driven extremely conservative. |

Talon does better than that, well that is at least if you keep the accelerator off the floorboard.
I was talking about my BMW 750iL. |

Not yet.
It was time for a comfortable car for cruising and the occasional road trip. I had thought about something like a Cadillac Eldorado or an older Mercedes, but I stumbled upon the BMW when searching through some listings. |
