BTW, if your clear coat is shot, you might as well consider a roll job on the Jeep. It is mostly angular flat panels. Take your time, be extremely careful with the sanding, and it might actually turn out decently well.
On a related note, you might also consider prepping the surfaces, then taking it to Econo or Maaco for a single-stage paint job. Probably under $250 or maybe even under $200, again assuming you do the prep work: filling, sanding, etc. Might want to call them for a quick quote.
Speaking from personal experience, the Maaco shop up in Ocala does pretty good work for a discount auto body shop, or at least did a few years ago when I used it for some paint work. Tape out kind of lacked, meaning some cleanup on my part, but the spray guy's skills were above my expectations for the price.

It is rather quiet while cruising. The exhaust does not really "open up" to a loud growl like a V8. It is more like a even ramp up as the RPMs increase. Then again, there are lots of sound dampening features, so maybe it is louder outside than I think. Not sure, as I have not yet driven it much around town. It was mostly highway miles bringing it back to Florida. |

I don't have the time to read all 800-900 messages, but I am sure it is my kind of talk.
I have had many cars that I wish I never sold. All I have left is a 1965 GTO block, with a tri-power(3 2-bbl carbs) waiting to run in some car.
Someone please give me a 1967 Pontiac Firebird. Convertible. |

Tekk, skip the TT. Performance wise, for the price, it is not worth it. If you want a 2 door coupe go with a 350z, or wait for the 370z to be released. For even cheaper you can get an RX8 while stilling getting better performance than a TT *wink* *wink*
If I had the money, I would look at getting the RS4, an M3, or even the Lexus IS F. The IS F is going to be the quickest in a straight line, the S4 is going to give the best lap times, while the M3 is going to be the most fun to drive.
But, I have never really looked much into the $45k+ car market, so all of my advice is just opinions of other people's that I have read.
Ask me about cars in the lower end of the spectrum and I'll have some more real world experience

Hmmmm...seems on my latest fill up I got 16.4 mpg and it was pretty much all city, albeit a total of 44.4 miles.
I was far from driving like a grandma (1/2 throttle or more from every light ), so maybe the distributor rotor & cap played a pretty big role here as the old ones were more than shot.

Thanks Biz I've decided that yes the TT will be skipped. While the TTS is still pretty fast I dont think it really fits my style (and the wife gave me a funny look when I expressed interest!). I've pretty much narrowed it down to the RS4 as I've been trolling around the AudiWorld forums and it sounds like damn good fun. I've looked into the IS-F as well but I'd like to get a manual tranny and the F doesn't come in manual unfortunately. I should be able to pick up a decent low mileage RS4 for 45-50 considering how dealerships are barely moving these things. I'll keep ya'll updated!

I'll keep ya'll updated! | I'm currently driving an IS 350 and was very excited about the IS-F, until it actually came out. I just can't stand those stacked exhasut tips, if you can even call them tips, they're not even physically attached to the mufflers. Lexus, BMW, Audi and MB should get together and build a car with Lexus reliability and interior, BMW handling, Audi styling and pair it up with an AMG motor. Oh, and an Audi DSG transmission too. |
