Watch the linked video. Anyone else also thinking that could be a clogged cat?

Yep, similar thing happened to my dad's Sebring at 200,000 miles. Although, his did it at a little higher RPM, not just above idle like the Saab in the video, but he replaced the both cats and the problem went away.

Are those ASA rims? I would have never matched black rims with a purple paint, but in that picture it looks really good. You going to lower the car? Your wheelgap makes me cry

SSC rims. Car is two-tone. Closely look at the top, which is black.
No lower. The front and rear fiberglass can already scrape the ground over large speed bumps and over steep grades if not careful. Look around at lowered 1G DSMs, which you will oftentimes find with either a stock front end or a broken aftermarket air dam. Also, dropping even just 1.5" can severely limit travel on a stock DSM suspension.
BTW, the wheel gap is OEM stock for recommended 205/55/16 tires. |

Looks good RR.
I got a neighbor right down the street from me that's selling the exact same car, but in blue.
He's only asking $1100 for it, said it rides and drives great.
If I had the $, I'd probably jump all over that. I've always wanted a DSM of some kind.
Although, I think I'd pick the next body style over that one. I like the look of those much better.
(going off topic now so I'll just stop, this medicine is really making my mind wonder) |

My first-year DSM has about 42.5k original miles, plus one of rarest 1G body kits (A&A Specialties), along with the wraparound body spoiler versus the smaller OEM hatch fin found on most DSMs. Look closely. AFAIK, there are only a few 1G DSMs with my body kit. BTW, if you ever do consider a DSM, remember the 2G turbo models come factory with a 7-bolt 4G63. Crankwalk is a known problem with the 7-bolt engine, so be careful, especially with high mileage examples. On the naturally aspirated side, you get a Chrysler 420a in the 2G hatchbacks, which is basically a Neon engine. Oddly enough, though, the n/a convertibles received the 4G64. |

Okay, riddle me this...
I bought new mower belts ( drive and deck ) and after figuring out that the drive belt is adjustable I finally got that sucker on
At any rate, now I have 4 reverse gears and one forward
To the best of my knowledge the engine is running in the right direction and the belt can only go on one way....wtf is going on? Something is eluding me.
Note: I've been having to jump the mower with a screw driver over the solenoid to get it started...I can't imagine a 4 stroke is going to run very well if it were running in reverse.... |
