    Tax Time!

It is that time of year again. Anyone here waiting till the last minute to get their taxes done?

I did mine a couple of months ago, but I found out that I had to pay over $250!!

I saved up and mailed a check in yesterday. Anyone else have to pay or did you all get a nice big refund check?

I got about $2500 refund and immediately adjusted my withholdings so I should get less than $100 refund next year. No sense in giving the Feds a no interest loan.

Shakespeare was only off by a month.

    Beware the Ides of April.

Mine done about a month ago.

Did my son's last Friday online.

Actually I did it by hand and my son wanted me to just mail it.

I, being the 'tech' guy that i am , wanted to try the online thing.

He's getting back about $740 all told.

Paper wise I had him at $608.

To be honest with you I think I am right as I look over the copies of the returns.

Anyone who is filing today and has to send a check to the IRS, do yourself a favor and write your SS# the tax year and the type of tax (ie.. income tax) on your check. This is so much easier then dealing with a check that is credcited to the wrong year or account. I speak from experience.

I made a boo boo. I mailed it on Wednesday but put three "H-makup" stamps on the envelope. I thought they were "H" stamps worth 33 cents each. H-makeup stamps are only worth one cent.

Fortunately, I brought the envelope to the P.O. and the postman hand cancelled it and accepted it. If it gets returned, at least there is a good postmark.

Meh - I sat in my cubicle and got paid to browse for 7 1/2 hours today.

Maybe Monday I will have some work to do.
