this knife cuts both ways and will cause a tone of heartache in the future. Democrats playing the filibuster card, are insuring that their presidential candidate can not stack the courts like they did. The judicial system with either come to a hault or end up with a bunch of people in it with no opinions or a bunch of liars trying to hide their true opinions.

However I do have to hand it to the democrats once again. I do continue to salute their ability to politic. Republicans did not try this course of action through the clinton years or any time in history for that matter. Democrats found the loophole first and are making quite effective use of it.

Surely, you jest. What is the effective difference between stopping an appointment through a filibuster and stopping one through bottling it up in committee?

Technically, you're right -- the Republicans did not use this course of action, they used another. They blocked 60-70 (if memory serves) of Clinton's nominees.

The Dems should have hammered this point home every friggin' day and night!

Halting in committee also bugs me. perhaps a different flavor of the same.

I do not like it, again make your case and convince people you are right and then vote. otherwise shut up AFAIAC.
