Nunya's top 10 ideas for the case.
10. RE- Use it for a prize in a Techimo Fad contest.
9. Use it as a small Lizard cage.
8. Un- modify the case. (make it look like a plain jane beige computer, not even a window.)
7. Give it a twenty minute paint job. (see the 10 min job in my gallery.)
6.Try and convince my wife its the latest thing in bedroom accessories. Combination Night light, Alarm clock, fan, ect,ect....
5. add a peltier or two and use it as a beverage cooler/ food warmer.
4. Turn it into a doghouse for our chihuahua.
3. Fishtank
2. Build another cruncer for Fad
1. donate it to www.computerbanc.org

I'd save it until the wonderful people at TechIMO decide to hold another one of these contests for another computer component, in which case I would hope to win the item up for grabs. After I have won all of the components necessary to build a computer, I would run FAD 24/7 and possibly host some kind of server with it.
I'm dead serious, too.

My kingdom for the case
Got a case I made out of old heating ducts. A real nice case would be awsome! I don't know what I would do without all the finger cuts, I figure I'll save abou the cost of the case in bandades alone.

NZXT Nemesis Elite Case
If I win that case my grandson will go bonkers. I plan on using it to make a new pc for him.

Here's some ideas:
- Use it as the coolest cooler to cram colossal counts of cold cans of Coke.
Take the parts out of my Xbox and put them in here, since most of it is standard PC components, and surprise my friends. Also to see the guy's face at Trade-a-Game when loses the bet by finding out that black thing with blue lights is in fact a fully functional Xbox.
Turn all the fans on and put pieces of paper in them to make the most anoying sound ever.
Put a lock on it and use it as a safe or a personal icebox so that I can keep pop away from my siblings
Use it as a place to put my thousands of CD's in (as opposed to having them laying around my desk within a 50-foot radius).
Melt the aluminum and donate it to my metal shop class.
Put a bunch of sound-reactive lights in it and use it as a cool sound visualizer.
Put it on the top of the Christmas tree, lights and all.
In real life, though, I'd use it as a normal case for my computer. I'm 14 and to save money for better components I bought an off-brand case at a yard sale. It looks cool but is so cheaply built that you want to commit suicide after trying to get the front cover off and back on again. So I'd take my computer parts (modest by today's standards: Athlon 64 3000+, 512MB Corsair, 160GB SATA, Radeon 9600 Pro) and put them in my new case, and use the old case for the ideas mentioned above.

As crazy as it sounds, the other day i was eatin some brownies my mom made for me, i went to get some lemonade and all of sudden BOOM i was kidnapped by aliens (along with several cows). They told me i need to win this case or else they will take it by force, they told me this case is some kind of super weapon that they can use to conquer other planets and dispense candy (perferrably skittles and m&ms) from the cd and dvd drives. If i win they told me they will spare the earth from total destruction.

I already sent in an entry but I can't resist-
"We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender that case. We add it's coolness and side-window to our own. Resistence is Futile."
"Attack pattern Alpha."
"Attack is too intense. Shields are gone!"
"Remodulate! Fire."

I know it's nothing new, but I'd probably remove any usable parts from the inside, check for and remove sharp edges, and then proceed to build a new environment for my gerbils in it. They wouldn't mind as they wouldn't have to look at it from the outside...
It looks like it might be quite a bit bigger than the space they have now.

If I were to win such a nicely featured case, I would use it as the catalyst to, finally, build a contemporary PC.
I have worked with donated/used parts, and lived on a fixed income, for so long I don't even look at current technology. Gratitude is one thing I have plenty of, but I can't bear teasing myself.
Last year, I lost my whole "Computers for Veterans" project in Florida to the hurricanes (for real). The VA offered to relocate me, and I chose Boston. Turns out Massachusetts has wonderful benefits for Veterans, and I can now afford a modest monthly expenditure, as in "one part a month".
I currently work with a donated P3 500 / 256Mb/ 8.5Gb / 16Mb Video, which I intend to "bump" once a month (looking for a P3 800 slot1), BUT, give me a contemporary case, and I'll go the other way, buying one *new* part a month until I have the kick-butt 'puter I've always wanted, and deserved (imho).woof

The case
This case shall become the onyx monolith of my living room...a true gaming machine. I'm thinking something along the lines of AMD dual core, 450 gig hard drive (storage) and a 76gig SATA HDD for OS. The video card will go PCI express with the PNY Quadro FX4400 512mb and CREATIVE Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS platinum for sound. No need for a monitor considering the ceiling mounted projectors that will replace my TV. Of course, no good system would be complete without CD-RW and DVD+-RW.
Top 10 Uses:
10. Making perfectly legal back up copies of my previously purchased movies.
9. Researching the real lyrics to "Louie, Louie"
8. High-priced toaster (Who needs a cooling fan?)
7. "Fear factor" for small animals. (...if I can only make it across the processor!)
6. The "instant replay" that no one agrees with during a sporting event.
5. High definition pong, baby!
4. Exemplify the evils of modern science to an indigenous population in a third world country (...and it came crashing down on the earth, glowing an evil glow).
3. Prosthetic leg
2. Voice synthesizer
1. Alien contact (Some alien language: We did that pong thing like 400 eons ago....how lame!)

That case would accent my computer parts nicely. I would take the server case I am using right now and donate it to my brother in NO, LA to help him start his online eBusiness. It would show I have faith in his dreams.
My other car is a T-34.

here's what I would do
whent he box came in the mail i would be excited cause i got somthing free (which has never happened). i would then log into my ebay account and get a real prize... MONEY! of which i have very little seeing as i'm almost broke right now.
but if I can't I might replace my unbelievably crappy/ugly/loud no name brand case that currently resides on my desk next to my beige 17 inch CRT dell monitor. and go... "oh well... at least my computer will look 'cool' when I have to sell it to pay the rent"

knowing me .....
I have never been able to stomach spending mucho money on a case and well maybe getting my first taste of a premod case might open me up to buying a few in a lifetime. What I really like about this case it reminds of the days of Transformers and of course I have a story to go with this ...
When we visited my Aunt Bridget I was always told by my cousin Mark to never play with my cousin Rob's Transformers action figures but one day I decided to get brave and went into the collection and grabbed Optimus Prime and a few others and well simply I broke one of the figures. So what happens ? Rob decides to come home early unexpectedly and he sees we are scurrying around in his room tidying up and well he suddenly realizes what we were playing with ... his $500+ set of Transformers .. and well he chases after his brother who had nothing to do with my brother and I playing them and when he figures out that one of them is broke he ends up chasing me through the house for like a good 5 minutes. I don't remember losing a tooth or being bruised and so I believe my cousin Sandy must have stepped in and stopped Rob, who was a highschool football player, from killing me ........ uhmmmm now the funny thing is I remember this fondly cuz I loved Transformers so much and he was so lucky to have a nice collection and I just wanted to play with them and so I did. Once in awhile I bring up this story to relatives and they laugh and well I think it would be pretty funny to show them my new case I got in the mail ...
a Transformers case ... more than meets the eye !!!
Heck I might even build a pc starting with this case and send it to Rob as a joke as quite honestly I like to mod cases myself and so a premod would be nice for someone else ...
What better way than to say sorry than to send him this huge Transformers case .... and well since alot you don't like it on here well I think I have someone who would like it ...Last edited by DeViLzzz2005; June 10th, 2005 at 05:50 PM. Reason: just changed a thought I got across wrong

What I would do:
I would combine the case with all of the thousands of spare computer parts that are buried in the back of the closet, to build a super computer. I would then build other super computers just like that. I would link all of the machines together creating the world’s most powerful computer. I would create a program to make that computer work on the greatest problem ever to face mankind; How do you make the perfect margarita? After many years the super computer would have the answer, I would then drink the margarita, it would be delicious.

I suppose I could put it under my sons bed to give him nightmares... Or less entertaining I could use it for it's intended purposes.

Wow, this is really getting long! Well I would like the case, but I couldn't use it because I have a dell, and we all know that dell mobo's do not have the same mounting holes as normal atx's. Good luck to you all!
Edit: And also I would like to welcome you all to TIMO if this is one of your first few posts!

If I got this case, I think I would get a fast enough system to put in there with a large amount of RAID'd hard drive space, put a linux server on it, and use it to help out open source projects, be it for test compiling, hosting mirrors, developing websites, developing [i.e. learning how to develop] apps, etc. I have a 1.5mbps connection that I could hook it up to, so it would be worthwhile for a mirror.

Worst.....submission......ever
What would I do?
Background:
A few months ago I got a baby turtle. I bought that little, umm, bad dude, everything he needed to be in turtle paradise.
He got a 10 gallon tank.
He got a UVA AND a UVB light. (Seperate, necessary so he gets the full spectrum just like the sun!)
A seperate heating lamp.
Three temperature probes.
An internal water heater with heat regulation.
VERY nice filter.
Ceramic logs.
All the food I could buy (brine, beef heart, reptamin, turtle pellets, and god know what else those four other bottles are).
Fake plants like it was NOBODIES business
All in all about $250 was spent on this fella.
And how does this commie reward me? HE DIES. Three days and he was dead.
Looking back I have decided that he died because his tank was not nearly cool enough. I mean seriously, what is cool about 4 glass walls? Today I am getting two more (gf's dad raises them and is bringing them this weekend) and I don't want these poor turtles to suffer the same fate.
As a result I would take this case and make a second window in it on the other side. I would then seal the inside so that it could hold water. Then put some old parts I have laying around in there. (Just for asthetic effect)
The UVB halogen stick light would be their cold cathode of love.
The UVA bulb would shine in the back where the HSF exhausts.
A "fan hole" would be placed in the top for their heat lamp.
Once in their new home I have no doubt they would not suffer the same "lack of cool" fate as their predecessor. I mean imagine you're a turtle, you live in a "computer" (you don't know any better, turtles don't know about electricity), does anything besides "THIS KICKS MAJOR ASS" run through your head? Exactly.
Don't do it for me, do it for the turtles.
*PS* I will get pictures of the old turtle and his cage up tonight so you can see firsthand the beautiful interior and the lacking exterior.
