Post NFL's TV schedule to go whacky in 2006

Monday Night Football has been on ABC for it seems an eternity... but, in 2006 this will all change:

The Sunday night game was previously shown on ESPN, which will now televise the Monday night game.

The Monday night game was previously shown on ABC, which will now televise the Sunday night game on NBC.

NBC also gets two first-round playoff games and the Super Bowl in 2009 and 2012 as part of the deal.

NBC will also be the first network to enjoy a unique scheduling twist. Beginning in 2006, the league will be able to shift afternoon games in the final seven weeks of the season to prime time to make sure that the best games are being shown on national TV.

    To top it all off:

On Wednesday, NBC announced it had signed Madden to a six-year deal to be the network's lead analyst for their NFL coverage.

So Al Michaels, which has been the lead analyst for Monday Night Football for "EVER" and is excellent, is expected to be offered a position with Madden to broadcast the Sunday Night Game.

Hmmm........that is interesting. I hope it works out good. Maybe we can get more football out of it? What i hate is that there are only 3 games on during the day on sunday when there could be 4.

I just want more football on TV. There are enough games being played, put them on TV!

Well, putting Monday Night Football on cable will drop lots of viewers who aren't cable subscribers and is pretty dumb. Monday Night Football has been on public TV since it's debut and to sell it to a "CABLE" channel is pretty stupid IMO.
