The reason I'm against red light cameras is that once it's ok to be charged with a traffic violation by a machine, you might as well put cameras on freeway overpasses and pay the national debt.
I never thought about a satellite, though...

It's really not a satellite per se. Just a GPS which uses satellite controlling your speed.
I don't know that I agree with being ticketed by machine either. How does one fight it if it is an error? Also, seems too easy to falsify with the accused having no recourse.

I think that for GB it is a terrific idea.
For the USA, we wouldnt allow it, too many people would be up in arms over it(real, not just whineing about it to our congressmen).
The idea that they would charge me $14.00 to park in a city wont fly either, I dont mind paying the coin meter for the time I am parked but to charge me $14.00 just to be in the area is daft. Yes I am talking about the congestion charge in London http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:...harge%22&hl=en
If I ever do travel to London, my best guess will be that I will be using public transport, or taxi

-RADAR | Right now, that would be the US. But, I believe I read they are putting their own system up. |

If there was some way you could mess up the GPS signals you could mess up and entire interstate and bring it to a complete stop.
Aint technology grand? |

LOL, I can jam GPS in small areas with stuff I can get a Radio Shack. If implemented in the US, I could cause vast chaos in the DC area by jamming/altering GPS signals on the Woodrow Wilson bridge at 4pm on a Friday.

It's not going to help much anyway, IMO. Traffic jams are caused by drivers not coordinating with (or being nice to) other drivers. So RADAR, it would do nothing, since everyone would be moving at 4mph anyways |
