Obviously you've never read the Satanic Bible. hehe. I haven't read the whole thing, but most of it. Why? Simply because it held great shock-value when I was a teen in high school. It was interesting and completely not what I expected.
As far as I could tell, a Satanist has the same core values as a Secular Humanist might hold. Only difference being the Satanist might have a midnight ritual once every few months where they dance naked around a pentagon and candles. It almost sounds ok to me. They don't actually believe in a character named Satan who is the dark lord of the underworld. Very similar to Wicca, they pay homage to nature as the all-powerful force that creates, destroys, and is responsible for all that is. |

Some Wiccans believe differently, just like some Christians believe differently.
What I believe, may not represent what other believe.
I basically believe in one god/goddess, that is representive of both genders, but more of a mother figure. I don't believe in satan, or hell, but rather reincarnation. I also believe in the power of energy, and directing that energy to do good things.
I believe you should do unto others as you would have done unto yourself.
If anyone is curious about this, and want to ask me questions about it (NOT ATTACK), feel free to PM me or email me. I am very open.
Also, I believe all religions are just different paths to get to the same god..... whether we call god Buddha, God, or if our god is nameless.... |

Religion is often a way of life, not only a set of rules to go by or a book to read.
I respect your religion, your respect mine

| Now if you had watched any of the news stories that they ran during the olympics you would know not to group the "mormons" with the protestant group.
If you would like to know more about the LDS faith visit the official site of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I guess with that said you can figure out what beliefs I follow.

Well now this is interesting Mntsnow..
I must confess I did not watch one minute of the Olympics. But it was because I never remembered to turn on the television while they were on...
I have always thought of the LDS as protestant though.
Protestant being the blanket description of a religious concept being..
Protest. Protest brought about by the rule of the Catholic church.
Protest that bucked at the rules of the ruling Church at that time which forbid memebers from speaking to God for forgivness and forcing them to go through a man, the priest. Protest from the Catholic church that was deeply intermeshed and basically controlled by the King of England. Protest of people that wanted to worship God and His Son, Jesus with out the rules imposed by men they believed that had strayed from the original Christian teachings of Jesus.
I've been to that link before, and went again today...What am I missing? I don't see the varriation of the LDS as being that much different than varriations between Lutheran and Southern Baptist.
Four Square and Methodist. Penecostal and Nazarine. |

I just dont believe the church (LDS) considers themselves a "Protest" based faith... thus the meaning behind Protestant doesnt fit |

Born and raised Mennonite/Lutheran
that is protestant
| No, Mennonite in Non-Catholic, but you can't lump it in with Protestant! Quote:
Joined Army (Infantry), so kicked out of Mennonite church.
they don't accept the army? weird
| Weird, . . . for refusing to bear arms for the taking of life?!? But that the rest of the world followed this belief! Quote:
Protestant in the Army.
which kind of protestant?
| Like I said, Protestant! Not Catholic! Not Jewish! Just Protestant! Quote:
Now, Independant Fundamental Baptist.
that is still protestant.
| Is it? Most Protestant Churches don't want the Fundamentalist's grouped with them. Chooco --
Your lack of knowledge and purchance to generalize, with a bit of sarcasim, leads me to believe you are looking to stir up trouble. You were the one that set the poll [quote]i don't expect an explanation or anything, just answer the poll and tell me if i missed a major religion[quote]
Instead, you've generalize and added snide comments to every response.
